Chapter 35: The Maze of Broken Dreams Luna woke to silence. A heavy, oppressive kind of silence that pressed down on her like a physical weight. Her eyelids fluttered open. She found herself lying on a bed of black marble, in the center of a vast, empty hall. The air smelled of ash and blood. The sky overhead was a swirling void, punctured by flashes of red lightning. She sat up slowly, every muscle screaming. Lucien’s face burned in her memory—his mocking smile, the way he had stepped from the shadows like a nightmare made real. Where was he now?
