That night, at the Denton's residence, Tiana laid with her eyes wide open. She couldn't sleep. Whenever her eyes closed for a slight second, her mind kept on going back to the castle and the red eyed man. She couldn't believe her eyes. How could there be a man with red freaking eyes?!?she thought. Getting out of bed, she took her coat and went to the back of their mansion. She walked towards the bodies of water and sat on the ground. Facing the clear stream water, she deep her hand inside, following the current of the water. Cream shiny little scales suddenly grew on her skin. Covering the parts in the water. Her blue eyes turned bright, and her incisors grew sharper, pinching part of her lower lips. The breeze blew, but she felt no chills. Fishes in the stream, slowly swam to her hand in the water. They danced around it with steadiness, like it was one of them. " Is he like me too? " she whispered to the wind. But she doesn't have red eyes! Or was he another creature? Do more creatures exist? she thought. She recalled the way he caught up with her, with ease, the time she ran away from him. She remembered the way he told her not to scream. He had confidence that she was going to obey him, why? A person with red eyes couldn't say those kind of words with such calmness, could they? A lot of couldn't and can't ran through her mind that night. She had to find out what kind of creature he was, incase she came across one. After few minutes, Tiana was able to clear her head, and she head inside the mansion. Even though her night wasn't pleasant, she had a good night rest. The next morning, dressed in a shirt and trouser, Tiana ran out of the house with an umbrella in her hand, and a raged mother behind her. " Well mannered ladies of the society, don't wear trousers! Get back here and change at once! Tiana! " Mrs. Denton yelled at her daughter, who was dressed as a male. She pinched in between her brows, and shook her head in distain. " Dear Lord, please help her find a good husband." she prayed. Mr.Denton, who was watching the whole drama from the window of the mansion, laughed out loud, as he stared at his daughter, who was now mounting on a horse. He had a proud look on his face as he adjusted his glasses, going to coax his wife, who was now blaming him for lending his daughter his clothes. Tiana raced on the horse like a professional, startling people, who were on foot. She raced till, she spotted the town's library. Dismounting her mare, she put on a hat, covering half of her face, before walking in. " Good day, sir." she greeted the librarian, forming a deep male voice. The librarian answered her, thinking she was a gentleman. Tiana hurried away from the entrance, and went deep into the library. She took every book she could find on people with red eyes and studied hard, writing down any key information she found, into a journal she brought along. From seconds to minutes, to hours, she studied and studied, till she could gather every single tangible information she could find on them. She left the library after returning the books, bidding the librarian goodbye. Coming outside, she realized the sun was now at the center of the sky. " Good afternoon." she greeted few young ladies, who were passing by. She made sure her face was almost fully covered with the hat. In the custom of their kingdom, females of any family status, weren't allowed in the library. The people believed that whatever a young lady needed, a governess could teach her. And whomever went to the library is either an immoral woman, or a woman her family couldn't afford a governess. Tiana didn't care what people thought of her, but that doesn't mean she would risk her family's name being slandered by the public. So, the only idea she could come up with, was to dress as a male, so she could walk through the library freely, and not slander her family's name in the process. She slowly rode home on her horse, trying to wrap her mind around the information she learnt that day. " Vampires." she whispered. That was what the books called them. She read in the books that, the vampires are creatures of the night, who feeds on human blood. They are known for their speed, strength, and thirst for blood. It was said in the books that a vampire has the ability to bend a human's mind, to do it's bidding. The books called the process compulsion. It explained that a vampire could tell a human things to do, by only looking deep into his or her mind. It was said that vampires are categorized into different types. It was stated that the first vampires to have ever walked the earth, were known as the Originals. They were created by a powerful witch, who cursed them, as a punishment for forcing themselves into her home, and slaughtering her children, after she refused them hospitality. For the curse to work, the witch was to bleed herself to death, of which she did joyfully, if it meant she could suffer the people, who caused her pain. After the witches death, the family was cursed with agony and they slaughter themselves in unspeakable rage. After death, the curse wouldn't let them be and kept on bringing them back to life. The family realized they couldn't kill each other, and went for the town's people. It was a m******e and they didn't stop there. They continued for about a millennium, until, a coven of powerful witches, combined their powers, putting them all in a deep slumber, because they couldn't kill them. But rumour has it, that one of them was too powerful and got away. He continued slaughtering and along the way, learned how to turn people, into creatures, like him and his family. And those other people he turned, became a different species, who could only be killed by wood, or a very rare plant called Vervain.
