NIKO. I had noticed Niko’s sadness from the dining table, observing as he picked on and held onto a piece of the cookies on his plate, staring absent-mindedly into space. Initially I didn’t seem to care, still pissed at the moves he had tried to make earlier despite my warnings but when I saw the distant look in his eyes, I knew that there was something really wrong. He looked like he was lost in some deep hole he couldn't climb out of and yet, I forced myself to keep my mouth shut and mind my business, thinking it was him reacting to the way I had snapped at him back at the kitchen before the kids returned. So when I had gone over to his study to register his kids’ displeasure at the way he had left the table suddenly, I met a completely different person. Even with the alcohol buzzing
