Eleanor’s POV
Chase took a step back, his jaw slightly twitching.
“Don’t worry about the contract. I'll make sure that you get your heir and that your beloved position at your company is secured, but please let me leave for two days at least,” I added, hoping that it would soften the blow.
Chase shoved his hands in his pockets, nodding. “I said that I’d let you leave in the beginning and I meant that and just because you haven't forgiven me doesn't mean that I am taking back any of what I just said. There will be no more wheelchairs. No more lies. No more pretending.”
“I’m happy for you,” I replied monotonously as I continued packing my things.
“I didn't forget what I said before all of this too.”
“Don’t ask.”
“Don’t indulge him.”
“End this conversation now.”
