Velma took her seat and puffed out a breath.
I was still taken aback by her abrupt entrance and, as much as my mind didn't want to go there, I couldn't help but think of her current boyfriend, Joshua.
Ever since Velma and I started talking, there have been a few things that I got to learn about her. One, she was the kind of woman that would do anything she put her mind to and once she was determined to get a particular task fine, there was no stopping her. Two, although she fought with Chase a lot, she absolutely adored the man. And three, she and her boyfriend, Joshua, had a new argument every week.
Watching her talk about the latest terrible thing the man had done, every week made me appreciate Chase more and send a prayer of thanks to God on a much more regular basis.
