Two weeks went by in a blur of assignments (yes, I FINALLY finished my English "life and death" assignment – can't believe we still had to do it even though Mr Peterson is no longer around!) and by the time I opened my eyes and caught my breath, it was the Friday afternoon before homecoming.
"You still coming over to my place to get ready?" I asked Vi and Kay as we walked to our lockers after class.
