CHAPTER 40 - TEACHING A LESSON - AIDEN'S POV
''Why do you smell like my mate?'' I asked Ryker, as I walked into his office an hour before sunset. He paled for a second, ''She just came to talk about the situation with Selene, and I apologized.'' ''Good, because I will not be so kind next time you yell at my mate.'' I said firmly as I placed a file down on his desk. ''This is path we'll be taking to the temple. I want it locked down, and guarded.'' ''You think someone will try to harm them on the way?'' ''I don't know, but I'm not taking any chances,'' I told him, ''Anyone can kill them and take their powers before or during the ritual, I can't risk anything. I also want to the prison locked down. Casey's vision about running through the dead forest, is very worrying to me. I just hope it was a bad dream and not an actual vision.'
