Ava was the first awake, and she started jumping up and down on the bed, giggling, ''CASEY GET UP!'' She shouted, ''WE'RE GETTING MARRIED TODAY!''
She then jumped off the bed and started knocking on the door blocking our room to Aidens.
''WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!'' She shouted to him, while I hit under the covers, ''DON'T BE LATE!''
There was no response, but there wouldn't be, Aiden had the privacy spell on his room, unlike ours.
''CASEY GET UP!'' She came over to annoy me, and ripped the covers away.
I squealed angrily as the cold air bit my skin, and I curled up in frustration.
''Come on!'' Ava tugged on my arm, ''Let's bathe and wait for breakfast in the warm water.''
''I was already warm!'' I grumbled and slapped her hand away, before I reluctantly got up and rubbed my eyes blocking out the morning light steaming through the curtains.
So... Today was the day. If I truly wasn't ready, now was the time to speak up, but seeing the joy in my sister face, as she removed her slip and climbed into the hot water of the bath, and knowing that I did really love Aiden, despite knowing what he'd done, I chose to go ahead with the wedding.
I climbed into the bath with Ava, who was talking no stop about the important things we needed to get done, hair, makeup, shoes, last-minute fittings and so on. I just closed my eyes and let her words wash over me like the water, but when Ava started shaking me, and causing water to splash all over my face, I realized I'd fallen asleep.
''What is your problem?!'' I splashed her back.
''Nanny's here, she wants us to get out,'' She said as she climbed out of the water, ''What's wrong with you? It's our wedding day, you could at least pretend to be happy about it.''
The moment I left the bathroom in my towel, I was instantly thrown to the wolves. Servants moved around us, quiet and efficient. They braided my long red hair with silver threads and jeweled pendants that matches our dresses. They coated my face with more makeup than was left on my makeup table. They helped me into my bridal gown. The silk felt cool and heavy, but Nanny said I'd warm up soon enough, as there were heated pads sewn into the fabric.
Ava was constantly squealing excitedly, and Nanny was alternating between barking orders and crying into her tissues, but I was just over this fanfare. I just wanted to get married and have it over with. I blushed at that thought. After the wedding, came the wedding night. I gulped and stared at my face in the mirror, my heart racing. What if Aiden wasn't pleased with us?
Bells sounded in the distance, and Nanny started clapping, ''Oh, it's time!'' She gushed, ''Vera, get their cloaks, we have to go!''
Once we were draped in the cloaks, Nanny led us out of the castle, and into the carriages that led us the massive temple. I slouched down to get comfortable, but Nanny slapped my hand.
''Sit up, or you'll mess up your hair!'' She ordered, and I groaned but sat up straighter.
Once we were at the temple, I really started to realize this was real, and happening. Dragons were filing into the temple, all dressed in beautiful gowns and suites, while some of the elder men were in their Dragon forms, towering over the others.
My breathing quickened as our carriage pulled around to the side of the temple, and we were guided inside, through a side door, and Nanny ordered us to wait in the private room for the ceremony to begin.
Ava was pacing around, practicing the ritual words, ''Ava, relax, you know it by heart by now.''
''We have to get it perfect, or the elders will start a fuss, and then Aiden will defend us, and it'll begin a fight, and.''
''Oh my Goddess, calm down.'' I grabbed her face, ''Take a deep breath.'' She complied and seemed to relax a little, ''There, better,'' I smiled and leaned in, but she pulled back.
''Don't, you'll ruin my makeup.''
I smiled and rolled my eyes, and my sister started pacing again.
Half an hour later, Nanny came back, smiling, ''The King is waiting, let's go.''
''Okay,'' Ava said as she removed her cloak.
Once I'd removed my cloak, I took her hand and we left the room.
The procession began. Nanny in front of us, while Ava and I walked together. Our steps were slow, measured. We moved past rows of the Dragons and our council members. The air in the temple smelled of Dragon fire incense. At the end of the aisle, Aiden waited. He looked strong, but his eyes held a flicker of something else. Joy?.
We reached the altar, and Nanny kissed our cheeks, before sitting in the front row with her mate, and next to Beta Ryker and his family, and I smiled viciously when I was pure hatred in Selena's face, but also in Nolan's face. Why was he upset about the wedding? Did he not think my sister and I were good enough for his brother? Or was he jealous?
The High Elder Priest Dragon stood before us. His voice, deep, began the ancient rites while Aiden held mine and Ava's hands by his side. He spoke of traditions, and of binding bloodlines.
''Kneel!''
The three of us knelt before the elder, who continued the ritual. He placed a hand on mine and my sister's heads, and we each recited the marriage rites, before Aiden spoke the words that sealed our marriage.
We performed our vows and stood up, before the Elder finalized the ritual.
''I now pronounce you, husband, and wives.''
Aiden smiled happily, and leaned down. Ava grabbed his face and kissed him passionately while the crowd cheered, but when we kissed, it was much more appropriate and brief.
Aiden pulled us back down the aisle, while the Thunder clapped, and we entered the carriage, but the moment we started heading back to the castle for the reception, my shameless sister climbed onto our mate's lap and started kissing him fiercely, but as I watched them, I got a little jealous, so I sat up, and pushed my sister away so I could kiss Aiden too, and then Ava, while Aiden watched us.
''Do we have to go to the party?'' Ava asked as she began kissing Aiden's throat, ''Take us to bed.''
Aiden smiled against my lips, ''Just be patient a few more hours. We'll go to the reception, perform our duties, but then I promise you. The two of you are mine!'' Ava smiled and kissed his again.
The reception was funner than I thought it would be. We danced some of our traditional dances. We ate alot, though Nanny scolded me, and whispered I shouldn't eat too much before my wedding night, leaving me blushing redder than my hair. We observed as the performers showcased their amazing fire displays, and drank some wine, that left me a little dizzy.
While Ava and I were talking with some of the elders. Aidens arms wrapped around me from behind, and he grabbed Ava's wrist.
''Leave us,'' He ordered to the elders, who bowed and walked away. He pulled Ava in closer. ''I can't wait anymore,'' He whispered into my ear, sending chills of excitement down my spine, ''Let's go.''
''Now?'' Ava said happily.
''Now.'' He repeated, and started to lead us from the hall.
The Thunder saw us leaving, and the crowd cheered again.
