Amelia’s POV
It’s been nearly a month since I moved in with James and John. We finally got the spare room set up for Lexi. Sitting there as I rock her to sleep, my mind goes back to the past few weeks and how much I don’t want them to end. Tomorrow, I face Trey’s mother. Tomorrow will decide the next few months. I don’t know why I’m so nervous, but I am. All I did was act in self-defense. I protected myself and my daughter from an abusive person. For f**k’s sake, he was pointing a gun at me. I did what I had to. I have to keep telling myself this.
