Koorgan carefully cradled Ruth against his chest, trying to keep from shaking her too much on the ride back to the palace. Gant kept giving him an amused look, but he ignored his friend.
“So… are you going to tell me what happened?” Gant finally asked.
He looked at Gant. “What is there to tell? I went for a ride, saw some Razor boar tracks, followed them, and fell in an abandoned well,” he said.
“That I had already discerned myself. I’m talking about the… whatever she is you are holding in your hand as if it is a priceless treasure. By the way, may I add this gives a whole new meaning to having a woman in the palm of your hand? Do you think Magna really sent her?” Gant asked.
