Ashure paled and curled his fingers into his palms when Koorgan moved the blade from his neck to his groin. He was feeling particularly motivated so he fought past the fuzzy filter the wine had imposed on his memories of that night. It had been a week ago. His ship had raided a small trawler. The merchant had been carrying a wide variety of items from the different kingdoms. The story was embarrassingly boring, in fact, because while Ashure kept up the persona of an indiscriminately dastardly pirate, he was actually very careful about what he stole – and what he bartered for.
