4. The Call

Jonathan got into his black car with his assistant, Sergeant Brown, who asked him, "What do you plan on doing to help your lover? You know the T-Group are dangerous, and we have been looking for evidence since, and there's none. They are very smart and vigilant. Why would your girlfriend's father get himself entangled in a business dealing with Damian Tucker? I am sad, but I see no help coming their way." "Don't say that nonsense to me. Damian is getting on our nerves, and as officers of the law, we must apprehend him and hand him over to the government," Jonathan replied. "I know... but how do you intend to do that? Your father has tried to get Damian's father behind bars but failed, and now you want to risk your life to fight with the devil. He has higher-ups backing him. So, I'm suggesting you wash your hands off this case and help your girlfriend raise the money. That's if Damian doesn't come for her, as I can see that she is beautiful and his kind of woman that he messes with." "Don't you dare say that crap to me!" Jonathan growled as he grasped Brown's shirt. "I will kill Damian before he gets his hands on my woman. Start the car; we are heading back to the station to report the case," Jonathan insisted, and Brown sighed. "Alright." Brown started the car and drove off to the police station branch in Northwind Town. ***** In a luxury estate, three black cars arrived and parked on the estate grounds. "Bring Mr. Max out and take him to the lockup room," Damian ordered his men as he left them and went to his mansion. On his way home, Damian got a phone call earlier from his father stating that it was urgent matters and he was needed in his home. Damian walked ahead to his mansion; the men in black working for him and guarding around the mansion bowed and welcomed him. They escorted Mr. Max to the room they built to lock up their prisoners. It was a simple room, built like a boy's quarter apartment at the back of the white mansion. It was built away from the mansion, so the men in black handcuffed Mr. Max away like he was a criminal and took him into the room. They locked the door and left him. "Shout all you want. There's no one to come rescue you," one of the men in black warned and left. ***** Damian entered the living room and went upstairs to his bedroom. He ignored responding to his father's call, thinking that his father was calling him related to business or why he went ahead and got Mr. Max apprehended. Damian recalled the sight of Alicia Dawson. He had seen her before during his visit to the town's hospital. He wanted her and knew of the relationship that she was in. But he decided to use her father as a tool to get her. "There's no way that the Dawson family would be able to raise such a huge amount of money within a short time," Damian said, smiling as he went to take his bath. Entering his bathroom, he stripped off his black hand gloves, took off his shirt and trousers, and prepared for his bath. After he was done, Damian walked out of the bathroom and dressed in a white robe. His phone rang, and he took it from the shelf to see who was calling him. "Boss, should I arrange for some ladies for you tonight?" Jeff Brody asked. Damian was in no mood for any woman. "No. Contact the Dawson family and let them know about my offer," he said. "What? What offer is that, Boss? We just left their mansion not too long ago," Jeff replied confusedly. "I know. Let them know that I offer to have Alicia Dawson as my bride in exchange for her father's release. Failure to show up tomorrow will get her father punished." "Oh!" Jeff gasped. "Is that all, Boss?" he asked, and Damian replied, "Yes. Send the marriage proposal to Mrs. Dawson tonight. I expect to see Alicia first thing tomorrow morning." "Alright, Boss. I am on it," Jeff ended the call and proceeded to contact Mrs. Dawson's number. Meanwhile, Damian smirked; he awaited Alicia's reaction the following day. He went back to his home office to get himself busy with some other deals that needed his attention. ***** In the Dawson's home, Lady Jennifer came out of the room after her failed attempt to reach her husband's brother on the call. "Mom, what are we going to do to get Dad out of the T-Group's clutches? We cannot wait for Dad's brother to help us, and I don't know if Jonathan will be able to help us," Alicia spoke to her mother, standing in the living room. Mrs. Jennifer sighed and took a seat on the couch. "I don't know, Alicia. But you shouldn't tell your boyfriend too much about your father. We cannot trust those policemen, even if he is your boyfriend. They shouldn't publicize us on the news, and tell him you don't know anything about your father's job." "But Mom, Jonathan is only trying to help us. Why not tell him what you know about my father?" Alicia said, but her mother's eyes narrowed at her. "No! You shouldn't dare to trade love over your family. Your father's life is in danger, and you think getting the police boyfriend of yours every detail of your father's business will help us. What will happen after your father gets his release, and they find something off? The police will come after him for fraud or anything else they want to use to hold him under arrest. So no!" Mrs. Jennifer looked serious, and Alicia swallowed hard. "So, what do you plan to do now, Mom?" Alicia asked, while Samantha sighed and said, "Mom, I don't know who to turn to for such a huge amount of money. I can only be able to pay up one million dollars. The remaining nine million dollars is beyond my limit. Why not ask Damian Tucker if he can accept another offer?" "Other offer like what?" Mrs. Jennifer asked, her eyes fixated on Samantha's face. Samantha shrugged, blushed, and told her mother, "To become Damian's woman." "What?" Mrs. Jennifer gasped, her eyes widened in shock. As well as Alicia and Caden. "Are you crazy, Samantha?? How dare you think of offering your body to that lunatic!" Caden charged toward his younger sister to smack her, but his mother interrupted him. "Don't you dare hit your sister, Caden! What can you do to help your father? You are a lawyer, yet you couldn't do anything to challenge Damian! Only one kick of his boot sent you flying away, and now you dare to raise your hands on Samantha, forgetting that your father's life is in danger." "But Mom..." Caden tried to speak, but his mother cut him off. "I don't want to hear it. Samantha is right, and we should think of how to contact Damian and offer the proposal to him. Samantha is very beautiful and a top model here in the country, so Damian will consider her proposal." "And what if Damian rejects Samantha's offer? You know his record with multiple women. What if he has a disease? Haven't you thought about the dangers of having Samantha become his woman? A man who engages in multiple women and a Mafia boss," Caden showed his disgust, his expression stern. Lady Jennifer shook her head and replied, "I cannot sit back and watch your father get killed. The police wouldn't be able to do anything to help him. Damian is a feared lord in this part of the state, and the best we can do is make our proposal and try our luck so that he doesn't kill your father over his debt. Besides, you benefited from it. You went to the highest law school because of your father." "But I never asked Dad to engage with Damian," Caden replied, and his mother frowned, "You are only an ingrate, and I wish I had another son who is smarter than you." "Mom…" Caden frowned, unable to rebel against his mother. Just then, her phone rang, and she took it up to see who the caller was. "Who's calling you, Mom?" they asked her. "I don't know. Let me find out," Lady Jennifer replied and answered the call. "Hello, who am I speaking with?"
