Part 1: HALMONI'S PARTY
Next morning. 9:00 AM.
Ji-woo woke up with swollen lips.
From the kiss.
She touched them and smiled like an i***t.
Do-yoon was already in the kitchen.
Making coffee.
In just a shirt and sweatpants.
"Morning," he said. Didn’t look at her.
"Morning," Ji-woo said. Also didn’t look at him.
Awkward.
But good awkward.
Then the doorbell rang.
Halmoni.
With a banner.
"WELCOME HOME NEWLYWEDS!"
"PARTY!" Halmoni yelled. "MY GRANDSON KISSED HIS WIFE! I HEARD FROM MRS. KIM!"
Ji-woo and Do-yoon both turned red.
"Mrs. Kim told you??" Do-yoon groaned.
"Of course! I pay her!" Halmoni said.
Within 1 hour, the penthouse was full.
Relatives. Food. Music.
Halmoni dragged them to the center.
"KISS! KISS! KISS!"
Do-yoon looked at Ji-woo. Panicked.
Ji-woo shrugged.
So he leaned down.
And kissed her.
Quick.
But in front of everyone.
Everyone screamed.
Halmoni cried.
Ji-woo thought: This is the happiest day of my life.
She was wrong.
---
Part 2: THE ARTICLE DROPS
3:00 PM. Mid-party.
Do-yoon’s phone buzzed.
Then buzzed again.
And again.
He looked at it.
And his face went white.
EXCLUSIVE: CHA DO-YOON'S MARRIAGE WAS A CONTRACT
Sources reveal: ₩5,000,000 monthly + divorce in 12 months
"Country girl paid to play wife"
There were photos.
Of the contract.
Leaked pages.
With their signatures.
Seo-jin’s work.
Has to be.
The party went silent.
Everyone staring at their phones.
Then at Ji-woo.
Then at Do-yoon.
"Is this true?" an aunt asked.
"Do-yoon-ah?" Halmoni whispered.
Do-yoon looked at Ji-woo.
Ji-woo felt like the floor opened up.
"Halmoni," he started.
"ANSWER ME!" Halmoni yelled.
Do-yoon closed his eyes.
"...Yes."
"It started as a contract."
Halmoni dropped her cup.
It shattered.
---
Part 3: THE FIGHT
3:30 PM. Bedroom.
Ji-woo ran to their room.
Do-yoon followed.
Slammed the door.
"Why didn’t you tell me it would come out?" Ji-woo cried.
"Because I didn’t know!" Do-yoon yelled back. First time he yelled at her.
"You lied to me! To Halmoni! To everyone!"
"I protected you!" Do-yoon shouted. "I gave you money! I gave you a home!"
"I didn’t want charity! I wanted—"
"What? What did you want, Ji-woo?"
Ji-woo stopped.
Tears falling.
"I wanted it to be real."
Do-yoon went silent.
Downstairs, Halmoni was crying.
"I was so happy... I thought... I thought you loved each other..."
Ji-woo heard it.
And broke.
She grabbed her bag.
"I’m leaving."
"NO," Do-yoon said. Grabbed her wrist.
"Let go!"
"I said NO!"
He pulled her into a hug.
Tight.
"Don’t go. Please. Not like this."
Ji-woo struggled. "You don’t get to do this! You don’t get to kiss me and then—"
"I do," Do-yoon whispered into her hair. "Because I’m in love with you. Contract or not."
Ji-woo froze.
---
Part 4: DO-YOON GETS HURT
4:00 PM. Downstairs.
Reporters somehow got in.
Cameras flashing.
"Is it true Mrs. Cha was paid?"
"Did you lie to your grandmother?"
Do-yoon stepped in front of Ji-woo.
"Get out," he told the reporters.
"You lied to the public!"
One reporter shoved forward.
Tripped.
And the camera hit Ji-woo’s head.
"JI-WOO!!"
Do-yoon pushed the reporter.
And something hit his shoulder.
Glass. From a broken frame.
Blood.
"DO-YOON!" Ji-woo screamed.
Chaos.
Ambulance.
Halmoni wailing.
In the ambulance, Ji-woo held his hand.
It was bleeding too.
"Stay with me," she begged. "Please stay."
Do-yoon opened his eyes. Pale.
"Silly," he whispered. "You’re crying."
"Because you’re hurt! Because of me!"
"Not because of you," he said. "Because of me. I was stupid. I should’ve told you."
The paramedics put oxygen on him.
Ji-woo didn’t let go of his hand.
---
Part 5: HOSPITAL. 2 AM.
Do-yoon was asleep.
12 stitches in his shoulder.
IV in his arm.
Ji-woo sat next to him.
Holding his hand.
Halmoni came in. Eyes red.
"Is he okay?"
"The doctor said yes," Ji-woo whispered.
Halmoni sat on the other side.
Took Ji-woo’s other hand.
"My child," Halmoni said. "I was angry. But I saw how he looked at you in the ambulance. That’s not contract. That’s love."
Ji-woo cried.
"I’m sorry, Halmoni."
"Shh. Don’t be sorry. Just don’t hurt him."
Do-yoon mumbled in his sleep.
"Ji-woo... don’t leave..."
Ji-woo leaned down.
Kissed his forehead.
"I’m not leaving," she whispered. "I love you, Do-yoon-ssi."
His fingers squeezed hers.
Even in sleep.

Part 6: THE PRESS CONFERENCE 2
Next day. 10:00 AM.
Do-yoon, bandaged, stood at a mic.
Ji-woo next to him.
"Yes," he said. "The marriage started as a contract.
Yes, I lied.
But I’m not lying now."
He looked at Ji-woo.
"Park Ji-woo is my wife. Not because of money. Because I love her.
And if you hurt her again, you answer to me."
He bowed.
Pulled Ji-woo with him.
The internet exploded.
But this time, the comments were different:
"He looks so in love"
"She stayed in the hospital all night"
"Let them be happy"
