CHAPTER 2 BEGINNING

"I hope you are happily married to me," Edden said, his hand gently touching Alena's belly. After hearing the news that Alena was pregnant, Edden was very happy and spoiled Alena.

"I'm always happy with you, Edd." Alena smiled warmly at her husband who was also looking at her lovingly.

The sky outside was getting dark, a gust of cold air had begun to get into their bodies. Edden immediately made a fire in the fireplace so that Alena wouldn't get cold. His steps took him to a large closet, his hand grabbed a thick coat and put it on Alena's body.

"You have to stay warm, honey," Edeen whispered, kissing Alena's head.

The gentle Edden was able to make Alena fall in love with the man, even though her family did not approve of their marriage.

"The fireplace is also enough to keep me warm, Edd," said Alena.

"You'll still be cold if you don't wear a coat. The weather is colder today than ever," Edden answered in his soft voice. "A cup of hot tea or a cup of hot chocolate?" Edden asked.

"Even if I choose hot chocolate you'll still make me hot tea, so don't ask, Edd," Alena giggled.

Eden laughed too. "You know pregnant women should not consume too many sugary drinks," said Edden.

"So why are you asking, then," said Alena.

"Just making small talk," said Edden casually.

Then Edden made a cup of hot tea and coffee for him and Alena, while enjoying their time alone in the cold.

Edden and Alena live in a simple house on the outskirts of town. Edden teaches at the university which is not far from the house, while Alena is only a housewife.

Edden put the teacup into Alena's hand, while Edden returned to the kitchen and got his coffee.

"You're very considerate, Edd," Alena said with a little chuckle.

Edden, who heard that, smiled sweetly, then sat beside Alena. "That's not much, honey. Thank you for choosing me." From the glint in Edden's eyes, it was implied that he was very grateful to have a woman who was his first love. Alena, who is indeed beautiful, white-skinned and very gentle, smiled.

"Thank you also for accepting me as I am, Edd," said Alena, looking at him gently.

"You are perfect, beautiful, gentle and very affectionate," he replied. "I hope you will never regret your decision to live with me," said Edden suddenly, his eyes staring straight at the fireplace.

"Don't say it like that, Edd. I won't regret it, I want to live with you forever, with our child." Alena answered Edden's words gently while stroking her growing belly.

Edden, who heard a sincere statement from Alena, immediately moved his gaze to fall on Alena's stomach, he brought his face closer to Alena's stomach and kissed it gently.

"I will love you guys forever," said Eden.

"Me too, Eden, I love you very much," replied Alena.

The next day, their life revolved, as usual. In the morning, Edden went to teach, while Alena stayed home waiting for Edden to return.

Their marriage went well, and the child Alena was carrying was born into the world. Edden named his son Reagen. Since Reagen was born, their lives have become even more perfect and happier. Edden gave his full attention to his only child. Alena considers it a great blessing that God gave her.

Alena's family opposed this marriage because both parents did not like Edden, who had no clear origin. His family was relatively affluent because he belonged to the upper middle class because of his father's considerable inheritance. It's just that rumors circulating stated that Edden was the son of an illegitimate father of another woman. That made Edden not entirely accepted by his own family and even his wife's family.

But Alena loves Edden sincerely. Moreover, Edden himself is a man who loves and loves her very much too.

Her marriage to Edden forced her to choose between her family and the man she loved. And Alena prefers to live with Edden rather than with her family, on this basis she is trying to prove that she lives happily with her little family.

Unfortunately, their life changed drastically when Fila turned five years old. Edden started not concentrating on teaching, and many parents complained about him. When he arrived at the hospital, Edden suddenly sat down and stood up as if nothing had happened. All of Edden's co-workers were amazed at the awkwardness. Some colleagues openly gossip by stating that spirits have taken control of Edden.

The longer the rumor about this incident spread unstoppably, making Edden more often alone and reluctant to communicate with his colleagues, even the most surprising thing was when he decided to stop teaching and move to his family's plantation.

Domestic disharmony finally emerged between the husband and wife. Edden spent more of his time in the study where he was researching something Alena didn't understand. As a result, the woman was more silent. Inside the main house, she was also reluctant to ask her husband because Edden didn't want to reveal anything to his wife.

"Are me and Reagen too boring?" Ask Alena at dinner with Edden.

"What are you doing that takes up so much time? You haven't even slept in our room lately," Alena said.

Edden sighed, looking gently at his wife. "Sorry I always overslept in the study." Edden took a sip of his water. His gaze began to look at Alena seriously.

"What exactly are you doing in your office?" Alena asked, who didn't know what her husband was doing there. Edden just stared at Alena, silent. He didn't say anything, so Alena realized no point in asking anymore. "Why? Do you intend to abandon Reagen and me?" Alena asked, who couldn't stop thinking about Edden with all his current decisions.

Edden couldn't answer Alena's question. Edden was too confused to answer that question. Indirectly Edden made his wife and children miserable because he decided to dart.

Seeing that Edden couldn't answer her question, Alena immediately drank her water, then carried Reagen and entered Reagen's room. Edeen, who saw Alena enter Reagen's room angrily, could only let out a long sigh.

Edden did not dislike Reagen and Alena. Edden's decision was the best thing, to keep all humans safe, a heavy task on his shoulders, even this was done so that his children and wife could live longer. Alena didn't understand this, and Edden certainly didn't blame her.

Edden stood up from his seat. His hand reached for Reagen's white water, which Reagen had not touched. He knocked on Reagen's bedroom door, intending to give him water because Edden was sure that Reagen had not drunk during the meal earlier.

"Alena, honey, Reagen hasn't been drinking," Edden said.

Not long after Alena opened the door to the Reagen room, Edden was holding a glass filled with water.

"Thank you," Elena said curtly.

Days passed, and Edden always lived in the study next to the main house. The villagers talked about it all the time, saying that Edden was an irresponsible and abnormal man.

"You abnormal people," whispered the residents.

"He seems to have gone mad, leaving his wife and children only for self-satisfaction," whispered other residents, starting to talk about Edden, who had just passed them.

"Exactly what was he doing on the farm?"

"I don't know, it looks like he's doing something for his satisfaction."

The residents kept talking about Edden, which they thought was not expected, especially what Edden did to make the residents dislike Edden.

The residents themselves didn't know what Edden was doing. They could only backbite Edden from behind. Even so, Edden knew that the residents were always talking about it.

That night could sense if any other beings entered the orbit of planet Earth. Their strength was so great that the several protection systems he created from the control device couldn't contain it. Edden needed more time if he had to fix these tools. He had no other choice but to blow himself up.

The air particles owned by Edden will unite with the Earth's protective particles. They will form a force capable of repelling enemies, even though he understands that he will be in a disadvantageous situation. He will live from the particle's core but not fully alive because he will no longer be able to communicate with humans.

There was no other way. Edden closed his eyes, touched the white stone at the entrance to block the foreign creatures, then blew himself up immediately after entering another dimension. A moment after that, Edden suddenly disappeared.

The explosion of light at night around the plantation surprised other residents. They immediately flocked to the place where the blast came from. They heard it coming from the Edden estate while Alena and Reagen went out of the principal residence.

Alena and Reagen then called Edden, the tiny house near the principal residence where Edden's research looked normal. Nothing was destroyed at all. Residents also wondered what was going on. Alena just shook her head. Reagen was beside her.

"Edden!" Call Alena outside his study.

"Dad," muttered Reagen, who also heard the explosion.

The residents could only stare at Alena with different gazes. Alena ran into the hut where Edden was researching, but Edden was not there.

The room's atmosphere also looks neat and like nothing happened there.

Residents who saw Alena's face looked shocked and immediately approached Alena. Even though Alena is the wife of Edden, a man they consider abnormal, Alena is not the same as Edden.

Alena sometimes still interacts with other residents, unlike Edden, who rarely has integrity with residents. Even if someone asks Edden, he won't answer.

"Edden!" Elena shouted back.

"Please help find my husband, he is not in place." Alena was crying hysterically because Edden was not there.

Alena also joined in looking for her husband until early morning when the residents raised their hands and couldn't look for Edden anymore because they couldn't find any sign of Edden.

"It seems that Edden has been with this plantation animal," said one of the residents who believed there was a ghost in the plantation.

Elena couldn't believe it. "I'm sure my husband is still alive, and around here, I asked the residents to help me find my husband again," said Alena.

"You have to be patient and accept that Edden has been with the ghost," said another resident.

Alena immediately cried on her knees on the ground. Several residents who felt sorry for seeing Alena also accompanied her to her house. Meanwhile, some people continue gossiping about Edden even though there is no sign of whether their search will bear fruit.

After the Edden incident, which was lost as if swallowed by the Earth, everyone slowly forgot about Edden. They all assumed that Edden had been with the plantation ghost.

Alena was unfortunate when her husband passed away, and Reagen was sad because his father had passed away. But as time passes, Alena accepts Edden's loss, even though Alena feels many awkwardnesses there. Alena was able to let Edden go, but not the Reagen willingly. She believes that her father is still alive.

Reagen believed that one day he would find his father.
