~Payton~
So, the last few weeks have flown by, I have followed the same routine. I get up at 6 am washed, dressed in training gear. I start my day by running the pack boundary, which was still covered in a wall of snow, the blizzard calmed down, but it has snowed ever since. I run the boundary 10 times or so, I found that members of the pack started running with me, Jake always ran upfront with me. They all chatted with me on occasion, most talked about how they thought Sebastian should die because of what he did to me and they all hoped that was what I was training for. I still trained the pack but used it as experience for them to learn how to attack me. It helped me train with multiple people attacking me and helped them learn how to attack those more gifted. I then trained with Elizbeth and Jamie with learning how to control my magic. Our next was to master to a takedown of the wall, which we had learned to live with, quiet frankly it made our lives easier and the pack was safer.
Today we were getting ready for the meeting of Alphas. It was put off from the original date due to the attacks. With the unusual snow, the attacks from the rogue and vampires had slowed if not stopped. While they felt safe, Steph came in to tell me that there was a dress code, which Jake had pointed out. I had already dressed in a winter dress with thick tights. The dress didn’t show any cleavage, was tight-fitting but not too tight. I wore winter boots too. She told me I looked fine.
“Payton, you do know that there are Alpha and Luna customs?”
“Where do you think I grew up?” I smiled at her, “with a pack of wolves?” I smiled at my own joke; Steph laughed. “Honestly though, while we did not live my traditional customs of wolves, I was trained in those customs.” We head down for late breakfast. Breakfast was busy, Zoey was eating loads, Jamie was telling her to slow down otherwise she will be sick again. Caleb and Thomas were arguing over the wall and whether it should come down, Clarissa was sobbing ever so slightly, Jake was talking to Elizabeth and Nick who seemed annoyed by something, Steph when straight to his side while I helped my self to breakfast. Sat eating watching them all objectively. I honestly don’t know why they are arguing, but they need to get it out of the system. Once they all finish.
“So, does everyone know their jobs for today?” I say.
“Yeah, Zoey, Steph and I will be hiding in the library doing research, the warriors will be standing on guard around the outside of the building, we will have two members by the entrance when asked about the wall of ice they say nothing. Then you, Jake and Nick will greet them and lead them into the lounge. Then you guys will discuss whatever it is they need help with.” Jamie says rolling his eyes at me, “We’ve been through it a million times, and you even created sheets for us to learn. Did you learn your sheet?” he says laughing at me.
“Yes, I did. I think I can pretend to have feelings”. I say quietly with a defensive frowning at him. Everyone finishes eating and then tidy up, everyone gets ready for the Alphas. Most will bring their third in command, leaving their second in charge of the pack. The first start turning up, Jake introduces me, but I forget who was who, almost as they turn up, I do remember Caleb though, there was a James, Jonathan, Ethan, Adrian where all the Alpha’s, then there was their third in commands, Jack, Jax, Tyler, Isaac and Brix (short for Beatrice). I was surprised to see a girl as the third in command, her Alpha Adrian was very proud of her and her fighting skills. We see them all into the lounge, the tension was palpable. Having lots of Alpha in one room can be dangerous, testosterone and Alpha hormones make them more volatile, so Jake sets out some guidelines to help the day go smoothly. Each Alpha goes through what is happening in their packs. Goes through the attacks, most have had their pregnant women attacked to the point they moved them all into the packhouse and no-one was taken. I sit nicely next to Jake, keeping quiet, acting like a Luna. I brought them nibbles and drinks, that Claire had prepared. Brix followed me out when I went to the kitchen.
“Hey, Payton can we talk?”
“Yeah sure, is there anything I can get you?” I say trying to pretend I care about her needs.
“Oh nothing, I was just wondering how it is that you're so well trained in fighting, yet you are acting like a typical Luna?” she says, folding her arms.
“I am happy to do ‘typical’ Luna” I use my hands to make air quotes “and also be kick ass on the battlefield. It’s also ok to be feminine and be a fighter”. I say to her.
She nods, “it’s hard to be both though isn’t it?”
“It sure is.”
‘Luna, we have wolves trying to climb the wall.’ Thomas mind links me.
“Excuse me I am being mind linked.” I smile at her.
“anything I can help with?”
“I don’t think so, I am going to check it out though just in case.”
‘Are they rogues?’ I mind link back,
‘Yes mam, they are trying the front gate as they can’t get over the wall, its hard there is too many of them’
‘coming with backup, hold on as much as you can.’
“Ok, I’ll need you,” I say as I head back to the lounge.
“Jake I have been linked, there is a problem at the front gate, I will go and check it out and if I need you guys I will mind link you” I smile at him as I kiss his cheek.
“Luna, do you honestly think that you can stop them alone?” I think Jonathon says.
“Alpha,” I nod slightly, “but of course I can, you can watch what I can do from a distance,” I smile politely at him. I walk around him and head out the door.
I run over; a few rogues had managed to get around the huge gate. The Alpha’s all stood with their thirds. The warriors where fighting three wolves each, as more were coming through the door, I run into the middle, the wolves fighting ours didn’t flinch.
“Wooah, look there’s a little girl who thinks she can hurt us” one rogue laughs at me, as I get to them. I spin and kick him flying back into the gate. Then I smile ever so sweetly.
The others who had come through descended on me. I spin kick punch my way until they are all unconscious, maybe dead. I didn’t look. I just carried on, soon all those that were down, the other stopped coming through the door. They just stood outside the gate arms crossed.
“Thomas and Logan watch the gate tell me as soon as anyone tries to come through. Jake what shall we do?” I say turning to him, the others stood there arms folded.
“They treated for a reason, I will mind link the pack they will cover the protocol.” He says. “We will just watch them for now.” I smile at him.
“shall I see if the elements will help?” I say to him,
“Good idea.”
I sit on the ground and move my arms in the way Jamie and Elizabeth taught me.” breathing in, I feel the elements, I know the others feel them too as they gasp at the feeling. The wind talks to me, it’s not a voice so to speak, tells me that they there are 50 wolves outside the wall, water tells me that they are trying to get through the wall as they lost a few wolves trying to get over it. I roll my eyes. The earth tells me that they have a camp close by and that they had sent all their men here to fight. Which means they left them vulnerable. Could be a weak point. Interesting that they would do that. spirit told me that they were ready for a fight. They wanted to fight us, fight me to prove themselves as the best. I then move my arms and thank the elements for their help.
Jake holds his hand out; I take it and stand.
“We are safe for now, there are 50 of them out there, no vampires thank god, their camp is left undefended and not too far from here.”
Although hitting them like that isn’t our style, the pack get into place, Steph and Zoey hide with the pack kids, Jamie stays to protect them. We are ready.
“I'll go through the door, I will talk to them,” he says to Jake.
“Pay you can’t they want you.”
“they do, but maybe we can scare them into talking, and hopefully leave. Plus, I can defend myself long enough for you guys to come.” I kiss him as I dart through the door before he can stop me. The kiss would have distracted him enough, I heard another mutter about me being insubordinate and Brix telling them to do one.
“Hey, don’t attack, I can kick all your ass, being the white wolf. So, let’s talk.”
“We won't talk to you, we will just kidnap you, we don’t need you already pregnant, we will just impregnate you.” I roll my eyes at him,
“You won’t be able to do it,” I say as they descend on me. “Jake,” I shout.
I kick, punch, shift and bit, Jake takes one out as he goes to jump me. He growls.
“Just so you know, I know about you camp” I laugh at him. “Leaving women and children, babies unprotected was a bad move. A really awful move actually”. The others turn and run off towards their encampment. I close my eyes and call air, I send air to entrap the rogue pack, to stop the fighters from getting in and from the vulnerable from getting out. Jake was still shifted as a wolf in front of me. I walk him beside him, my hand on his shoulder. Those that left start reporting back that they couldn’t get to the pack.
“You harm my family I will kill you” the wolf in charge says, he doesn’t have an Alpha aura about him, but the others look to him.
“How about we agree, you see, I don’t need to be near you to kill you, I control the elements, I can withdraw the air from a distance, I can bury you in the earth, I can drown you in a desert. You see, if you leave us alone, if you leave the neighbouring packs alone, I will not have to use my powers on you, be on the right side of history.” I say I watch him while he consults with the others. They are clearly worried about my abilities, so they want him to agree.
“Ok, well I can’t fully agree to that, the vampires will kill us the man that is in charge of us will ensure we die, but how about this, we play double agent, we will tell you when an attack is coming, and we will ensure we won’t take any pregnant wolves. It’s the best we can do.”
“it will be fine. Thank you, you will find they are released.” I say as I and Jake turn and enter the gate, the others who were crowded around the hole in the gate spring back. As Jake shifts, I remember to put clothes on me.
“So, we will have a kind of sorted the situation.” I shrug at them.
“We can see that. You seriously managed to control the air around the camp.” Ethan says.
“Kind of, I could do that because the earth told me where it was, but normally I couldn’t, it would take a lot of power to do what I told them I could do,” I say. I look at Jake.
“Well, Payton, will eventually be able to control her magic enough to do that, but we’ve been practising helpful, offensive magic. Protective magic.” Jake says. “the camp that had the air around it, people could leave it they just couldn’t enter it.” he says shrugging.
“Really, least we will know when they attack, that helps,” Ethan says, “But not all of us are such good fighters.”
“Well, we can help with that, send small amounts of wolves here to train, we train women, men and kids. Although I don’t recommend you send kids, we can train someone from each pack to train kids. Just so they can protect themselves.” Jake says. “From now, it’s only going to get harder. We might have a heads up on when they will attack us, but that doesn’t mean the attacks will stop, or that whatever is coming isn’t going to be bad. We all need to be ready. We need to survive, the White wolf isn’t just here for this pack, she’s here for all packs. We will survive together”
Honestly, I wonder where that speech came from, we went inside had dinner and chatted some more. Elizbeth, Marc and Josh had made folders for the Alpha’s to take, with our contact details, the protect spell we used for the boundary so that they could stop the vampires. It also had basic manoeuvres they would do, strategies we used to keep everyone safe. We also made a private website that people needed a key code to get in, which was on their packs, this allowed them to send information on how many and who is coming to train. What they will need, and we can communicate and track who is getting hit when. We would communicate when the key changes. They stayed an extra day where the Alpha’s and thirds, took part in our training, they were all good fighters but we really were just honing their abilities, we also tired teaching them to shift mid-fight too. Our pack members joined in the fighting. Which the thirds all loved, Brix couldn’t get over how many women were fighting and enjoying it. They left after dinner. We sat and watched supernatural after we had showered. Then I fell asleep.
