You Choose

A story to die for

Olivia was my best friend. We know each other since kindergarten and our parents keep visiting each other. We were together in middle school and we did high school apart but every time we had a little time we were together. I told her all my secrets and I thought she did the same. Until now.

As I was staring at that message I felt a whole inside my chest. How could  she do something like that to me? I was always honest with her and i love her so much. I feel betrayed and humiliated and in the same time i feel love for both of them. I couldn't believe that  the buy I was supposed to marry with has been cheated on me this whole time with my best friend. I looked at Ed who's sleeping so nice and I didn't know what to do. I wanted to cry but that wouldn't help me at all.

I grab the remote control and throw at Ed's head. He woke up so confused, I almost feel sorry for him.

-"What the f**k Blair?" he asked with his sleepy voice.

-"Why Ed? And why with Olivia?" i asked him. My voice was fading and Ed saw his phone in my hand.

-"You go through my phone?" he started to get nervous but I didn't care.

-"Enough with your stupid questions!" I yelled. "Why Ed?" i turned my back to him. I was nearly crying. He come near me and hug me. "No no no. Don't do that! You couldn't find other girl, could you?" i yelled so hard my voice disappears.

-"Baby let me explain! Please" his eyes were pink-red I could tell he is sorry but what the f**k? He grab my wrist and pull me to his arms. I slap him.

-"Leave me alone Ed!" i go out the door. I thought i would hear him behind me trying to stop me but no, not a move.

I walked on the beach alone and crying. The sound of the waves was so pure, so innocent that made me forget about what just happened. Why did he bothered to ask me to marry him, if he is with Olivia? This is the only thing I couldn't understand.

As I was sitting on the sand with my thoughts, a hand was on my shoulder. First I thought it was Ed and I started to get angry, but then I looked up to see a handsome boy looking into my eyes.

-"What the hell?" I exclaimed as I was getting up.

-"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I heard you were crying and I wanted to know if you are ok." he apologized. I didn't know I was crying so laud. Now I'm ashamed of myself. As the light of moon came out of the clouds I could see his face. It was that playboy from my exam class.

-"Hey you were in my class!" i said shocked. He laughed and his eyes were smiling to my soul.

-"Yes I was. Is that a shock to you?" he asked with a rough voice.

-"I just didn't expect to see you here, that's all." i said irritated by his tone. "Anyways, I'm fine, thank you for asking!" I almost yelled.

-"Well I told you I'll see you around, didn't I?" he winks at me. I looked at him still in shock. Suddenly my shoulder starts burning me just like before when i left the school. I put my hand on the burning spot. He notice that. "The pain will be gone. Trust me" he said with sad eyes. I looked at my shoulder and saw my red skin almost in flames. I turned around to ask him how did he knew but he was gone.

Who was that guy? Is he following me? Ever since I turned 18 al lot of shitty things happened to me. That was one of them. The pain was back. My soul was hurt, my heart, my trust, everything.

I decided to go back in the hotel room and listen to Ed's explanation. At least I would know the reason and with that occasion I could give the ring back. Maybe he had some amnesia and confound  me with Olivia. Who knows?

I wanted to call my mom to tell her what happened but I know she will be so worried. I will explain her when I'll be home which I couldn't wait to go to.

As I walked through the hotel corridor I've heard Ed's voice. It looks like the was on the phone with someone.

-"I know baby, I love you too, but..." Oh it must be Olivia on the phone. I slap the door.

-"I'll call you back" and he hanged up the phone. "Blair thank God you are ok! Where have you been?" he asked me.

-"Out. Now I'm waiting for you to explain and you have 10 minutes" I said with a calm voice. He look at me like i was insane but he accepted, like it was something to accept...

-"Well it all started with your ring, I..." he started.

-"Oh you mean this s**t?" I asked while I snatch the ring and throw it to his chest.

-"Don't do that Blair. I love you!" he affirms.

-"Yeah, I can see that. You love when you are not inside Olivia, don't you?" i yelled almost in tears. I have to control myself, i don't want to give the satisfaction.

-"Would you let me finish?" he asked with a lower voice. I moved my hand as I allow his to speak. "So I asked her to accompany me to buy you this ring. After I bought it, we went to a bar where she met a guy. I told her I will drive her home. So I waited for her to finish whatever was that. After an hour she asked if I want a beer. I remind her I was the one who will drive her home. She said something like celebrating our engagement, mine and yours. I accept it and after a few drinks... you know... and since then..." he didn't finish... He looked ashamed and in pain but I didn't care.

-"That's it? That's the whole f*****g story? You cheated on me because of nothing? You have to be kidding me" I rolled my eyes and shacked my head. This can't be real.

-"I'm sorry Blair. Please forgive me! I'll make it up to you. I won't happen again." he begged me.

-"What like it won't happen after it happened a lot of times before?" i laughed. That was the only thing I could do. To laugh.

-"Please Blair"he begged me again.

-"Ed... I want to go home" i said irritated.

-"But it's the middle of the night baby" he exasperated yelled.

I looked at him like I wanted to kill him, but all I could say was:

-"NOW" almost whispering.
