Chapter Thirty - A Dark Room

  Daniella slowly became aware of her environment.  She felt cold and heavy and uncomfortable.  Darkness was all around her, and from somewhere over her right shoulder there was a constant, regular beeping.  She lifted her head, and licked at her dry lips.  As her eyes adjusted, she realized, it wasn’t totally dark.  There was a dull glow from the monitors behind her, and a ribbon of light coming from under a door to her left.  She felt her heart stutter in her chest, and her fingers clawed for something to hold onto, fisting into a knitted blanket and white sheets.  She became aware of something moving, a blacker than black shadow passing the foot of her bed, coming to her side, and a sickening feeling of DeJa'Vu made her feel nauseated.  A cold hand slipped over her fisted fingers, str
