Trying to mask their reluctance, the brothers exited the vehicle. They straightened their clothes and began to approach the packhouse. A wide grin spread over Marie’s face as she caught sight of Gale, hastily running down the steps and over to him. Her arms were spread wide ready to embrace him but Nik stepped in front of him, blocking Gale from her impact. She skidded to a halt as her arms almost wrapped around Nik instead and she furrowed her brows at him. He was much taller than her and his broad body blocked most of Gale’s image from her view. He was slightly slimmer than Gale, so his arms weren’t fully hidden. With a pout, she stepped back from Nik, who then moved aside from Gale.
