Love is in the air

Finally the two love birds stood up and tiptoed to to the door, James opening the door and peeking outside. There was no one around. As Alana had asked him he went first and walked towards the staircase leading downstairs. His steps seemed like he was drunk. For him it was like walking through clouds. Cloud nine was such a nice place to be on! When he was half way to the staircase he turned around still grinning he blew a kiss towards Alana. Her heart skipped a beat while she watched him walking, then hopping down the stairs still eyes on her putting one finger to his eye, then making a heart shape with both hands and in the end pointing at her. A giggle came out of her mouth and she pressed both of her hands over her mouth. Her heart began to flutter and she paced up and down the big room to calm herself down. Once she was sure that he was downstairs she tiptoed to the door, opened it very quietly and sneaked out. While she tried to be as quiet as possible with her feet she didn't really observ her surroundings and a frightend squeak left her mouth when she was suddently gripped by her wrist and pulled into one of the salons on the way to the staircase. As soon as she turned around she relaxed. It was Grian, standing there, with hands on hips looking a bit dissapointed: “I was looking for you everywhere! Your mother told me you was probably in my room getting something. But then I see a smitten James dancing down the stairs looking to the direction of the library nearly falling downstairs in the end. That's when I knew you was up here! What were you two doing?” “I went to him because I wanted to kiss him.” Alana felt shy again. She looked at her hands waiting for her cousin to scold her. She didn't have to wait long. “I can't believe it! You planned on getting him alone in the library and seducing him and didn't even ask me to help you! What if somebody had found you? I could have stood outside and directed everybody away from there! A good friend you are!” “I swear I didn't want to seduce him! How can you be so insensitive! That's excactly why I didn't tell you because I knew you would make such a dirty thing out of it! All I wanted was a kiss and I got one.” She let out a deep sigh. Grian looked ashamed for about a second but her couriosity won. “How was it? Did he stick his tongue out and lick your face off?” With that she started to laugh a little. Alana thought back to that kiss and smiled “It was wonderful!” Grian took her cousin to one of the sofas and looked at her like she was handing out sweeties. So Alana continued: “His lips are sooo soft! And he was sooo gentle! I had butterflies in my belly and it felt like our souls entwined.” Her eyes were closed and she could still feel his lips on hers. Suddetnly Grian gave her arm a squeeze and whispered into her ear: “You do know that you are moving your lips, right?” Alana jumped up and and looked at a laughing Grian with horror: “I think we should go downstairs to the others. They are probably waiting for us wondering where we are.” And with that she took a grinning Grian by her hand and pulled her out of the room downstairs into the dining room. The guests had started arriving and the King was standing there with his mate and the host (Edward with Ginessa) to welcome everybody. Once Amena saw the girls she waved them over and mindlinked to both girls: “Grian, thank the moon goddess you are here, love, you have to go outside to your mother. Your father has arrived and I fear if nobody stops them they will mate in the garden!” Grian knew her parents only too well and run outside pulling a disgusted face. “And you Alana, you have to come here and greet the guests with us. Normally James should do that, he is the birthday boy, but nobody can find him!” Alana frowned. Where on earth was he? Was he like the other boys and was now telling them about their kiss? Would he brag about her looking for him or tell them that he 'conquered' her? If so she would make his life a living hell and never ever kiss him again! Mate or no mate! It felt like hours! Always the same: “Nice to meet you, Alpha, Beta,Luna, what ever. I heard so much about your pack! Please this is the way, the refreshments are on the left hand side!” And always the same slogan: “Is that your daughter, my King? I swear she is as beautiful as her mother! She will make one Alpha one day really happy!” And they never forgot to wink at her. Most times somebody would then either squeeze her cheek or her arm. But only the older women did that. The men didn't dare to touch her! Not with her parents so close by. What made her uncomfortable were the younger wolfes who were like her brother Connor and her cousin Markus driven by hormons and checked her out openly. One even swallowed hard which earned him a low growl from her father. The young man appologised and quickly walked into the garden. Conall stepped closer to his daughter and said gently: “Don't worry, they are all mouth with no bite! No wolf will touch a woman or girl if they don't want to be touched. It is against our blood. Plus you are under age. They might look at you and have dirty thoughts, but till you are 18 years old they won't even try to kiss you!” Alana thought about the deep kiss she shared with James and turned deep red. Her father saw that as a sign of her maiden innocence. He smiled and thought by himself that James was a lucky man, if he was her mate, because she was so pure. Like her mother was when he met her. Sometimes it still hurt him when he thought about his last few weeks in the human city before he met his mate. Hopefully she would never find out! But humans don't live as long as lycans or werewolves do so he hoped everybody involved was dead or just too old to remember. What he hadn't thought about was, that it was only 20 years ago, and even for a human of 18 years of age another 20 years on top doesn't mean they would die any time soon or be too old to remember. Espacially if they were insulted in the most private way. After all guests had arrived everybody went outside in the garden waiting for the host to announce that the banquet was ready to start. Alana was looking for James. As she was walking around scanning the garden for him she saw Grian sitting next to her father, talking and laughing with him. Bran was a tall man with skin like dark chocolat, well built body with not too many muscles and golden curles. His eyes were normally very light brown with golden flecks in them like Grians' but now they were black orbs filled with lust. Her mother was sitting a bit to the side, fanning herself vigorously and looking at James who seemed to be a nervous wreck. Once he saw Alana he smiled and made signs for her to come closer. But she knew better! He must have been out here the whole time trying to keep Eilidh and Bran apart from each other. And now he wanted her to come over and be in between of these two mates who smelled of nothing but lust for each other and only acted civilised because their daughter was there. No way, not with her! She run back to her mother with a wicked grin on her face. He couldn't see her relief that he hadn't been with the boys talking about her! That was all she could think of. Amena was on her way to her sister anyway thanking the moon goddess that this all happened in an area that wasn't visited by anybody and bumped into her daughter on the way: “Why are you running, child, you should walk slowly with grace.” “Sorry Mama, but James and Grian are doing their best to keep aunt Eilidh and Bran apart from each other and James wanted me to help, so I run to find you because I don't want this horrible smell around me!” Amena laughed at her daughters words and walked with her back to the lusting couple. “Was you able to talk to James?” “Yes, I was.” - “And is everything sorted?” Alana frowned so her mother explained: “I mean, could you talk to James about what you wanted talking about and is everything ok between you two?” - “Yes, Mama, James and I understand each other perfectly well. It turns out we think excactly the same about the matter in question.” Amena looked at her daughter. She was a bit disappointed that she couldn't get more out of her but now was not the time as they had reached the scene of extreme flirting with obstacles in form of Grian and James. Amena felt sympathy for the two teenagers. They really tried to do their best but not being with his mate for months Bran was in physical pain not to be able to mate with Eilidh and for her it was the same. “Bran, darling, would you be so nice and fetch me some of the special wine from the cellar?” Bran looked at Amena like she had grown horns but suddently he understood and run to the house. Then Amena turned her attention to her sister: “My dear sister, can you please fetch my scarf from my room for me, I think it is quiet chilly out here.” Eilidh understood at once and run towards the house. When she passed her sister, Amena grabbed her arm and whispered: “You have half an hour! Not more!” Eilidh smiled and nodded forming a 'thank you' with her mouth. James and Grian looked at each other frazzled and started walking to the party. Amena stopped James and slapped him lightly on the back of his head. “Next time you can't greet your guests because of horny couples mindlink somebody for help! Now go and see your parents, they will have another word with you!” He lowered his head and walked away. Grian fell into Alana's arm “First I have to smell you and James and now my parents! Moon goddes please no more horny couples tonight!” Amena turned around to look at her daughter which looked shocked and Grian only just realised that her aunt was standing there and had heard her. She slapped herself and run off. Alana walked slowly to her mother. Amena took her into her arms and sat down with her onto the bench where Bran and Grian were sitting before. “Do you want to tell me what Grian ment?” - “We only kissed,” Alana whispered, still shaken with embarrassment, “I have a feeling insight that something will happen. Something I can't controll. All I wanted was a kiss before he sees his mate and it is not me and he will never ever look at me again.” Amena looked understandingly into her daughter's eyes. “When I was 18, a week before I met your father, I went to visit a young guard that brought me flowers every Saturday. That was the day he was off and he spent it looking for flowers in the fields to bring to me. I liked him a lot even though I knew he was never ever my mate. I'm a pureblood and he was a simple werewolf. But I liked him a lot. When he smiled he had dimples and his eyes were as blue as the sky...(sigh) I liked him a lot! So before we went off to this mating ball I asked him to walk me to the garden. There I kissed him. With all my passion. I knew it was the only time I was able to do that and you know what?” Alana shook her head “I don't regret it! He was a real gentleman and so loving and caring! Then I met your father and forgot all about him. When I found out about your father's harem and his behavior I wished I had done more than just kissed this young man!” Alana was surprised about what she just had heard. “What happened to him? Was he the one father nearly killed?” Amena chuckled. “Yes he was! But one day later he found his mate and never even looked at me again! That hurt a bit.” She chuckled again wiping a little tear from the corner of her eye. “So, no do think you are a bit young to kiss but I do understand why you did it! And don't worry, I won't tell your father. He wouldn't understand! Now let's go to the others. We have to talk to most guests tonight and then guide everybody to the banquet.” With them words they got up and walked back to the others.
