The Princess and Her Lycan Pirate

Before they could walk any further, James had jumped in front of Alana, clearly not thinking straight. “Please, we need to talk! I have so much to explain! Please, I'm begging you!” He could see in her face that he had hurt her with his words. How could he have been so stupid talking about his experiences loud in the open!

Alana's face showed confusion and sadness. He still had hope. But before she could agree to him, Grian took her hand and pulled her away: “I think you have said quiet enough, James, don't you? We will go now, freshen up a bit and then go downstairs for breackfast!” She turned to Adonis “My dear cousin, my mother had a room prepared for you on the second floor, when you enter that corridor it is the third door to the left. We will meet you later downstairs. “ And with that the girls walked around James and into Grian's room. Adonis bowed to Edward slightly and made his way upstairs to change his clothes and wash.

James turned to his father again. Pain written all over his face. “What now? She will never ever listen to me! I have lost her before I actually had her!”

Edward placed his hand on James' shoulder and said calmingly: “Cry when it hurts! You still have some time to talk to her and Grian won't be around her all of the time. Now, calm yourself down, go and talk to your mother about your plan to move away. She needs to know! And stop glaring at the Arch Duke! He is a cousin to the human King and very powerfull!” - “Why is he actually here? He has no wolf and the relationship between him and Eilidh and Amena is so distant that it could be called not related at all!” - “Yes, he has no wolf, but he has still lycan blood in his vains! So try to hold back your anger! At the moment he is longing for a mate and would do anything to protect our secret to the human King! But if he feels threatened or insulted I wouldn't bet on it that he would keep our family safe! One word from him and we are in the dungeons for treason! With reason or without! But don't worry, it is nearly impossible that he is Alana's mate. The amount of lycan blood in him isn't enough to be allowed to mate a pure blood lycan princess! Now, as I said, go to your mother and talk to her! I will go downstairs to the breakfast room, entertaining our guests.”

James thought about his father's words, agreed with them and walked downstairs to find his mother.

In the mean time Alana and Grian were in the women's bath room having a wash and getting dressed. Both were exhausted from that long night and just wanted to sleep. If there wasn't that big hole where their stomachs were. Starving they were rushing with extra speed.

Alana started mentioning the situation first: “I can't believe it! As soon as he has his wolf he is just excactly like all the other wolves! A horny dog!” Grian started laughing: “Sorry for laughing but his face was just too funny when he saw us! I bet he is in hell right now! That his Alana heard how his hormones took over and let the she wolves seduce him!” - “I don't think it is funny! I used to think he was different! By the way, I am not his Alana! He has another mate!” - “And you think that will stop him from persuing you? He was too shocked when he realised that you had heard him! What if he rejects his mate for you? OH, that is soooo romantic!” Alana huffed: “Romantic? No, stupid more like! Why would I waste my time with somebody who will hurt his mate easily? And what about my mate? He must be out there somewhere!” - “Unfortunately it can't be the Arch Duke.“ Grian said with a grin, “Because he will be mine!” Both girls were now laughing out loud.

Finished with their freshing up they made their way to the breackfast room. Sitting at the huge table were already Conall, Amena, Edward and Adonis. James was still talking to his mother and Markus and Conor only just went to bed. And what Bran and Eilidh were doing was obvious.

Alana was relieved not to see James and sat right next to her mother while Grian took the seat next to Adonis. At first Adonis seemed disappointed but he quickly started a nice conversation with Grian about her upcoming journey to the oracle. Adonis was genuinly interested and Alana felt a little sting in her heart because of all the attention he gave Grian.

After a little while James and Ginessa joyned the breackfast table. Seeing the place next to Alana free, James rushed to it and sat next to her. Alana only looked at him and whispered: “What are you doing?” He whispered back: “What does it look like, I'm sitting down for breackfast! Changing into a wolf is hungry business!” - “So are horny she wolves, I heard!” James smiled, leaned over to her and whispered directly into her ears: “I love it when you are jealous! We need to talk urgently. I will leave this evening and go travelling for some time. I do not know for how long but what I have to say to you can't wait!” Alana thought about what he said and nodded: “Meet me in the library after breackfast. Everybody will lie down after this and we will be alone.”

James liked the sound of that and turned to the table with a smile on his face. As soon as he faced the other people around and his gaze landed on Grian giggling to something Adonis had said. James' smile froze and he knitted his eyebrowes. He really hated this Adonis guy! His wolf was raging inside of him. How dare this human to make his mate laugh! A low growl slipped his throat.

Everybody stopped eating and watched James. A smirk appeard on Adonis' lips. He turned to Edward: “My dear Duke, it seems I outstayed my welcome, will you excuse myself from this table, please, I will get my servant to pack my stuff immediatelly and leave for Charles' court.” He stood up and was about to walk to the door when Amena run after him: “Adonis, will we see you at the mating ball this week end?” - Adonis turned around still smiling: “There is no need for me to attend anymore. But I will be honoured to meet you at the debutant ball soon!” And with that he left the room.

Edward glared at James: “You will come with me now and follow him to appologize for your behavior!” And then he mindlinked him “Tell him that you didn't like a grown up man flirting with your sister! He should understand that. Better let me talk!”

Adonis was just helped by a servant to get his travel coat on when Edward walked towards him with open arms “My dear Arch Duke, I hope my son's little growl hasn't changed anything between us! You see, he feels very protective over his little sister and for us wolves she is still a minor. So please except my deepest appology and let's forget about it! Why don't you come back inside, I heard you have travelled to the Western Woods recently and I wanted to hear everything about it since it is were these dreadfull pirates are hiding!” He nodged James who walked towards Adonis and said with a serious expression on his face: “I am truly sorry for the growl, I didn't mean it in a menace way. Please except my appology” He even bowed his head a bit.

Adonis said to Edward: “Don't worry, I don't hold anything against you or your lovely family. But I have to go. Talking to Grian made me realise that the debutant ball is happening very soon and even being a god with the needle, my taylor will need a bit of time to make all the new suits that I will require. At least with Alana present I have a reason to dress to impress. I will be looking forward meeting you in town soon!” Then he walked over to James and said softly but seriously: “You can't have them both! Make your decision! I know who I would choose!” He patted James back and walked out of the door.

James turned to his father with disgust on his face. This slimeball! He dared to tell him to choose!

Edward had watched the whole thing and mindlinked James: “Is he right? Do you want both? Because you know, you can't have that! They would know!” James felt suddently really exhausted! Too much going on. He didn't know himself why he was growling. It was like a reflex because someone was talking to Grian. His wolf went crazy, not him.

He walked passed his father towards the stairs. “I had planned to talk to Alana before I go but I can't. I just can't! Please tell her, that I will see her before her debutant ball. But for now I will go to sleep and then leave tonight. If you see Conor and Markus tell them, that I'm already gone. I know they have planned more parties for me in the woods today but I'm just not in the mood for more horny she wolves.”

As soon as he said that last sentence Alana walked passed him angrily: “Don't you worry, there are no horny she wolves around here for you! How dare you talk about me like that!”

This was definetly not his day. First she overheard him talking about what happened last night and now she walked out the breackfast room when he was just talking about horny she wolves and she thought he was talking about her!

He wanted to run after her to explain but his mother came out of the breackfast room and took him by his arm. She wasn't happy and with a stern look she said:“Let her go, all you would do is make it worse! Now, you two, come with me, we need to talk!”

She marched towards one of the salons and waited for James and Edward to enter after her. Then she closed the door and walked further inside the room. Her body language showed that she was really in a bad mood. Her lips were pressed together and her eyes were narrowed. To calm herself down she walked a bit up and down in the room. Edward felt astonished. What had he done wrong? “My love, what is bothering you? Is it because our son wants to leave us and see the world? Or that he found his mate and wants another one? Even you must understand how he feels about her!” He shouldn't have said that! Ginessa stopped in her tracks and turned around to him slowly, her eyes pinning him down like daggers: “So it was you that put all this bullshit into his head!” She spat the word bullshit. Edward felt really small suddently. “Do you have any idea how a woman feels? Yes, I am sad that my boy will leave me but it was only a matter of time! He is like me! When I was young I wanted to see the world. So I packed my bags and moved around. Hunting in the forest for food whenever I was hungry. Till the day I ended up in the human city and found a job as a maid to one of your friends. I always knew that my son would long to see the world and I don't mind that! But what really pisses me off is your arrogance!” Ginessa didn't behave ladylike anymore. Edward and James knew that ment, that she was actually beyond pissed. James walked carefully towards his father while Edward tried to calm his mate down. “What are you talking about? When was I ever arrogant?”

Ginessa let out a short laughter. “You are really something else, aren't you?! I am talking about your suggestion to our son to destroy two girls! Not only two girls but the princess and her cousin, our Grian!” - “I never did such thing, my love, you know I would never ever do something like that!” Ginessa stepped closer to her mate: “With us it was different! When I met you, you was in a chosen-mate-relationship! Eilidh is a real Lady! As soon as she realized who I was to you she rejected you, just like that! Because it was the right thing to do! I understood why you had to get married to a Lady and I am greatfull to this day to her that she accepted me as your mate and her equal, but we both know, Edward, that I'm never ever equal to her or the Queen! I am still that simple servant girl inside. And yet I do understand better than you what is right and what is wrong! Can't you see it? I was matched to you by the moon goddess to show you your place! For generations now, your family chose their mates due to power in both worlds. The moon goddess in her wisdom gave you a hint in form of me to make you humble! To make you see what you have got and what your place is! Markus is the son who is destined for a higher mate not my James! You have poisened him slowly for years and I was stupid enough to listen!” Her voice was now an dangerous whisper: “Alana is the princess and Markus is her cousin. We all know that they would never ever be mates. She is a sweet girl and deserves all the happiness in the world. Grian is a sweet girl as well. Yes, I do see her as my child as well and I know how hard it is for James to accept this but SHE IS THE ONE FOR HIM! Not Alana! And now, you are standing there, telling him to destroy Grian by rejecting her and Alana by making her mate reject her! How could you be so arrogant, so stupid, so blind that you don't think the moon goddess will punish you for this?!”

Edward felt ashamed and tried to say something but Ginessa didn't let him. Instead she turned her attention now to her son: “I will allow you to travel the world and have as much fun as you need to get these stupid ideas out of your head but listen carefully: If you ever follow through with your stupid plan than I will disown you! Now pack your bags and leave before I forget myself!” James looked at his mother with shock and run out of the room to pack his things. Edward watched his mate with adoration. He never thought about the things she said and was clearly taken back. Ginessa breathed havily and as a reaction Edward walked towards her to take her into his arms but before he could reach her a vase landed with a loud cracking sound in front of his feed. Shocked he looked at his still fuming mate: “Don't you even dare try to touch me now!” And with that she walked out the room back to the breackfast room to be with her friends leaving a befuddled Edward behind.
