At the noise I jump back from Orion and try to retrieve my hand but he grabs it before I pull it and interlocks his fingers, then places it in his mouth lovingly, Jack is at the door with an ice cold face. “What the hell is going on here?” I straightened my back and sent a pleading look to Orion to let me go, he gave me a side smile and softly started to give me little kisses all over my hand, making me melt inside, before letting go.

He turns to Jack “Just spending time with my mate is all”.

I took a deep breath and turned serious: “Jack we need to talk. This punishment you´ve given Lina, you’ve… you’ve gone too far! I mean this isn’t you. You are not heartless nor coldhearted” At the mention of Lina his face turned enraged.

“Alesa don’t forget your place, you are my future beta before everything and you shall respect my commands. It is not your place and not the right time for you to question MY decisions. I command you to stay out of this trial which I shall be leading” He looked at Orion distrustingly narrowing his eyes. Jack has never in his life talked to me this way, and he never has used his alpha voice on me as he did right now, to say I’m shocked is an understatement. When an alpha uses his alpha voice to command you can not deny it or go against it that's why alphas lead the pack, when someone falls out of line they use command them, oddly enough I don't feel compelled to follow his command, maybe it's because he's not the reigning alpha.

“Be very careful how you speak to my queen, you pup” Said Orion in a voice full of repressed anger “ You cannot command a Luna from another pack, she is not sired to your pack so don't even think about using the alpha voice on her again or you shall know what I am capable of.” I must admit in this situation in which it was in doubt whether or not I was Orion´s Luna Jack made a grave mistake, it is unthinkable for an alpha to try to command another’s pack Luna. It is considered an unforgivable offense and seen as trying to undermine her alpha´s strength. For much less had wars been led.

The tension was running high from all three of us, I could almost feel their thirst to fight each other, as if sent by the goddess at that moment the doctor walked in.

“Alphas excuse the interruption it is time for me to examine the patient's state and recovery”

I exhale a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Both Orion and Jack left, leaving me drained. After the doctor's examination I fell into a deep, much needed sleep.

When I opened my eyes it was dark outside, I feel a little disoriented. It takes me a moment to realize I’m still at the hospital wing. That's when I notice Jack´s mom watching thoughtfully from a chair across my bed.

“You've caused quite the rocket Aly” I feel my face turn red, I felt like a little girl again, she raised me as her own, and it was very rare when Luna would reprend us but her serious tone indicates it's what's about to happen.

“Orion and Jack were about to rip into each other's throats just to decide who gets to be beside you when you open your eyes. You know I already consider you my daughter so I feel the need to guide you when I see you are making things complicated for yourself.” I blinked surprised at her statement, difficult for myself?

“You are not seeing things clearly, so let me spell it out for you: Make no mistake, Jack will reject Lina and vanish her from the pack to be with you, he is doing it in order to make you his luna. He is ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for a life at your side. He is choosing you as always. Aly while you were unconscious we also had an alpha meeting in the neighbor pack Blue Solstice, in which Orion pleaded at the meeting that he wants his fated mate by his side and he plans to keep you at all costs. By my tone you should already guess how the other alphas took it. No one is budging on the subject, not one alpha voted in favor of his plea, they all want his pack to remain isolated. SO it doesn’t matter whether you are considering a future with him it won’t be possible or at least not without a war, and worst comes to shove we will side with our brother packs against the Red Moon pack” She took a deep breath.

“Do you really want to fight us on the battlefield for him? My dear my heart feels heavy the moment I realized you two may not be destined mates, but that doesn’t mean you won’t love each other deeply, please Aly baby do not prolong this too much you must know what all of this means.” I could already feel the tears coming out of my eyes.

“I know luna, I just I… umm I…” I was ugly crying at this moment.

“I’ll let you for now rest my dear” She gave me a hug and left the room quietly.
