Vivienne This isn’t the world I knew of before. This isn’t my body. I am just a stranger. The alarm went off making me groan. I was not a morning person. ‘Vivi! Breakfast’, my dad yelled from downstairs. He was the gamma of the Moon Crescent pack. I cringed every time I had to say the pack’s name. As if it wasn’t the most cliché name for a pack. They did not even get a little bit creative with naming ĵody. She was 16 years old when I woke up in her body. My memories of my past history was hazy but I was a human before. It didn’t take me long to realise I was in a werewolf world where wolves, packs and war existed. Till now, I have no clue how I woke up in this world and how it happened. There was a loud knock on the door and I saw my dad annoyed that I was taking forever. ‘Breakfast, young lady’, he said. But dad couldn’t stay angry at me long. He lost his wife in the car accident and almost lost Vivienne too. But she survived miraculously and woke up from an induced coma. I certainly did not want to tell him his daughter was dead too and that I was a complete stranger who now was in her body. How weird would that be? Especially since I had zero explanation for it. ‘Just appreciating what my dad gave me’, I dramatically flipped my hair and clicked my fingers making him laugh in seconds. My dad and I were really goofy with each other. I became used to calling him dad especially after how much he helped me during recovery after the accident when I had no idea where I was and who he was. The doctors called it memory loss blaming the accident. It worked out for me since my dad and everyone around me suddenly was very patient in teaching everything to me. The pack. Werewolves. Transformation. Mate bond.... Of course I knew some of these things already from my human world memory. But we thought they were myths back in the human world. Things that only used to exist in story books. ‘Five more minutes or I am dragging you out’, dad suddenly tried to sound serious and warned me before closing my bedroom door. I quickly hopped into the shower and changed into some fresh clothes. I chose to wear a cute sky blue tank top and shorts. It was summer anyways. ‘Franklin, do these pancakes taste as good as they look!’, i teased my dad. It was disrespectful to call him by his name but it was always fun to see his reaction. My dad let out the biggest sigh, ‘I have raised a spoilt brat!’. ‘Dad, far from it. I am the best daughter anyone could ever have’, I replied, grabbing a chair and already munching on the delicious pancakes. Ever since mum passed away, he has been trying to be there for me in all ways possible. Which is why I feel even more guilty since he was doing this all for his daughter Vivienne and not me. I really hoped it wouldn’t be this way forever. After breakfast, dad dropped me off to my work. I graduated from high school last summer. All of my friends were already either in college, taking over family businesses or working like me. Werewolves were crazy rich and I don’t really see a point in going to college. Don’t get me wrong but studies were never really my strongest point. Besides, dad already owns the town house we live in and has enough savings for us to live comfortably for the rest of our lives. Being a gamma paid well especially if you are a part of a pack as big as the Ahem Moon Crescent pack. So, I chose to work part time at a clothing store until I figured what I wanted to do with my life. Lost in my thoughts, I bumped into a broad shoulder. That hurt like a b***h especially since this person was super tall. ‘Sorry’, I muttered quickly as I could feel a really powerful and dominating aura from this man. ‘I am the one who’s sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going’, his deep voice resonated in my ears. It was the pack beta. Ezekiel. His perfectly structured face was adorned by the most mesmerising green eyes. Everything that they use to describe those hot guys in the fantasy book, he was all that and better. I have met him before on several occasions. Being in a pack meant everyone was close knitted. So it was next to impossible to not know the pack members. ‘It’s all good Beta’, I did a small bow before I tried to exit the scene but a strong hand held me in place. ‘Vivienne? Is it?’, his face was trying to think hard and I noticed his grip on my forearm wasn’t budging any second. ‘Yes, it is. Can I help you with anything?, I replied, curious to know why the beta was suddenly interested in me. I mean I can’t blame him. Vivienne was a pretty blonde and I have dated around in the pack. The beta opened his mouth to say something but he suddenly stopped. It looked like he was getting a mind link. Werewolves could speak to each other using the mind link. It was so cool when I tried it for the first time. Almost felt like I was phoning my dad inside my head and speaking to him. ‘Maybe next time Vivienne’, Ezekiel gave me a small smile and let my arms go. It really seemed like he wanted to say anything. Shoot, I got so lost that I forgot I was running for work. ‘K BYE’, I abruptly replied and ran to the store entrance. Before I stepped inside, I looked back one more time and noticed Ezekiel was still there, smiling and looking in my direction.
