As she struggled to carry a box filled with kitchen supplies up the stairs, she heard a friendly voice behind her. "Need a hand with that?"
She turned to see her neighbor, a tall guy with a warm smile. "I could definitely use some help," she replied, grateful for the assistance.
He quickly took the box from her, and they walked up the stairs together. "I’m Conrad, by the way. I just moved in a few months ago, so I know how overwhelming it can be."
"Nice to meet you, I’m Lina by the way, It’s been a bit chaotic, but I’m getting there," she said, feeling a sense of relief with his presence.
As they reached her apartment, he set the box down and glanced around. "If you need any help setting up or finding your way around the neighborhood, just let me know. I can show you the best coffee shop nearby."
"That would be great! I could use a good caffeine fix," she smiled, feeling a spark of connection.
As she closed the door behind them, Conrad glanced around her new apartment, taking in the unpacked boxes and scattered belongings. "Looks like you’ve got your work cut out for you," he said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I didn’t realize how much stuff I had until I started unpacking," she replied, feeling a bit embarrassed. "It’s overwhelming, but I’m getting there."
"Want some help with that?" he offered, already reaching for another box. "I’ve got a knack for organizing things. You could say it’s a hobby of mine."
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Organizing? Really? What else do you like to do?"
"Well, aside from organizing, I love hiking and trying out new recipes," he said, a playful glint in his eye. "Maybe we could go hiking together sometime. I know some great trails nearby."
"That sounds fun! I could use some fresh air and a break from all this," she said, feeling a flutter of excitement .
As they began unpacking together, the conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared stories. With each box they opened, she felt a little more at home—not just in her apartment, but in this new chapter of her life.
