“You should move in with me until you get somewhere else.” It had been three days since Drew left and Mitchelle moved out of the big mansion to stay with Ava. “I wouldn't want to bother you with this, Ava. I have stayed for some days and I think I feel a little better.” “I don't like when you push me out like I'm not family.” Ava poured, obviously displeased with Mitchelle's statement. “You know I don't mean that. You're more than a family to me. I just can't keep rubbing my problems with yours.” “So are going back to the villa?” “No.” She answered, shaking her head in negative. “I can't go back to that place. In fact, this whole town holds a history of both of us together. I have a hunch I might meet him here and I may never heal again if I remain here.” “Shhsh, don't say that, girl. You'll heal from the old scar that jerk left behind.” Ava hushed her, patting her hand gently. “What do you plan to do then?” “So I have decided to leave this town and I really need your help, Ava.” “Do you really need to ask for that? You know I would help you no matter what.” “Thank you so much, dear. I don't know what I would do without you by my side.” “Argh, don't makee feel to emotional.” Ava said, dabbing the corner of her eyes as the duo burst into laughter. “Where city would you be leaving to?” “I haven't thought too much about it but it has to be somewhere very far away from here.” “Hmm, I have some friends in Eastwile and it's a far distance from here.” “Eastwhile?” Mitchelle muttered the name, as it sounded familiar. “You've been there, Mitch but just for a while. You went for a short trip there. Have you forgotten so soon?” Cupping her hand over her mouth, Mitchelle added, “Then I can't go there. I’ve been there means just one thing- it's under the watch of my family.” “Come on, girl. Eastwile is a big place and the place you went to the last time is the capital. A lot of people prefer the capital but for the peace of your mind, you'll stay in a more serene region.” “But..” “No but, Mitch. I'm making this call and arranging this for you right now.” With her hands zipping her mouth, she stood up to go get her phone. While she was waiting for her to come back, she turned on her phone she had switched off for some days. She knew she would be getting calls from different people. She and Drew had always been the lovey dovey couple in front of the upper class down to the least class in town and it wouldn't be long before the news of their separation or pending divorce goes out. As a the daughter of a wealthy family and a beautiful one at that, many young men in the town and their family would be overjoyed to hear about her family falling apart. She had rejected all of them outrightly for that fool. Mitchelle wasn't ready to face that or be questioned by anyone. She just wanted to leave the town quietly to where she knew noone and to start afresh. In agreement to her thoughts, a lot of messages and missed calls popped up on her screen immediately she turned on her phone. Her phone rang in less than a minute after she turned her phone on. Speaking of the devil, It was her stepmom. Taking a deep breath, she picked up. “Don't think you can hide in Ava’s house and run away from the mess you've created. Come to the house now! The whole family wants to see you. You have unanswered questions.” Her stepmom shouted through the speaker. “I was about to come over.” Ava replied calmly. “You had better not waste time and hurry down here.” The beeping sound cut through the air. “Who was that?” A concerned Ava asked as she walked in. "It's my stepmom," she said calmly. "She wants to see me at the family mansion." Ava's expression was sympathetic. "Do you really have to go?" "Yeah, I should go. I should see them and explain things between I and Drew before I leave." she said finally. “Really?” Ava scoffed before adding, “Do you think they don't know about everything yet? Nothing gets past their nose.” “I know, Ava but I just need to go there.” “Hmm, but I won't bear them humiliating you like trash. And this is all happening because of that scumbag.” Mitchelle smiled as she stood up to leave. Ava had always been her backbone. Her family except her father had turned against her ever since she choose Drew. Ava nodded. "I'll drive you." “You shouldn't bother yourself. I can take a cab there.” “Bother? Again? One more of that word bother and I swear I’ll really abandon you for life.” With arms akimbo, Ava twitched her face in pretended anger. “I give up.” Mitchelle smiled, raising her hands up in surrender. The ride to the mansion was silent, Mitchelle's mind consumed by thoughts of her family and what they might say. She had taken a huge sum of money from them to help Drew, and now... As they arrived at the mansion, Mitcqhelle's heart sank. Ava noticed this, and pressed down softly on her hands. “I am here. Don't be scared.”
