Chapter 5: The Dance

425 Words
Mia woke up the next morning with a smile on her face. Her date with Ethan had been perfect, and she was excited to see him again. As she got dressed for work, she couldn't help but think about him. When she arrived on set, she saw Ethan talking to Marissa by the craft services table. Mia's heart sank a little as she realized that she would have to share Ethan's attention with his co-star. "Good morning," Mia said, trying to sound cheerful. "Morning, Mia," Ethan replied with a smile. Marissa gave Mia a quick glance before turning back to Ethan. "So, are you still up for that dance lesson later?" she asked, fluttering her eyelashes. Mia's heart sank even further. She had forgotten that Ethan had agreed to take dance lessons with Marissa for a scene in the movie. "Of course," Ethan said, grinning at Marissa. "I'll meet you in the studio after lunch." Mia forced a smile and walked away, feeling a little jealous. She knew it was silly, but she couldn't help it. She had started to develop feelings for Ethan, and the thought of him dancing with Marissa made her stomach churn. As the day went on, Mia tried to focus on her work, but her mind kept drifting back to Ethan. She wondered if he felt the same way about her or if he was just being friendly. Later that afternoon, Mia was in the production trailer when Ethan walked in, looking sweaty and out of breath. "Are you okay?" Mia asked, concerned. "I just finished the dance lesson with Marissa," Ethan said, collapsing onto the couch. "I had no idea dancing was so hard." Mia smiled, feeling a little better. "Well, I'm sure you did great." Ethan shook his head. "I'm not a very good dancer. I feel like I'm letting Marissa down." Mia couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction. If Ethan was a bad dancer, maybe he would stick to her instead of Marissa. "I'm sure you'll get better with practice," Mia said, trying to sound encouraging. Ethan looked up at her, his eyes sparkling. "Speaking of practice, would you like to dance with me?" Mia's heart skipped a beat. "Really?" Ethan stood up and held out his hand. "Why not? It'll be good practice for the scene." Mia took his hand, feeling a rush of excitement. As they walked to the studio, she couldn't believe her luck. She was about to dance with Ethan Grey, and maybe, just maybe, it would lead to something more.
