After the death of the girl in the hospital, Nick’s discovery of the recipe in Lowell Seward’s wallet, and the shootout in Koreatown, Lt. Jenkins thought it would be a good idea to bring in someone from Narcotics to consult on the case. The department was getting more questions from the media than they could handle. Marconi, a brash cop who was used to undercover work, had seen just about every substance on the streets. He took down a perp on bath salts long before the guy in Florida started chewing people’s faces off. He’d never seen the purple stuff before, but at least now they knew they were dealing with a Schedule I Narcotic.
