"Wait, what?" Daniel's sudden marriage proposal took Georgina aback. She furrowed her brow and replied, "No, forget it. I'm not divorced yet." Nicholas might not be the best husband, but he worked hard doing chores at home without complaining and had a vulnerable heart. Despite treating him like a dog sometimes, Georgina knew he was still a human being. Besides, Nicholas borrowed five million to save her company during the crisis. He even used his hard-earned savings at the Paramount Hotel to protect their pride and reputation. "Gina, I'm way better than Nicholas! He's just a loser and not even worthy of you. Don't worry; I'll prepare a fantastic gift for Grandma Barbara's birthday. I'll propose, and she'll definitely approve," Daniel said, full of himself. Georgina sipped her coffee gently. The Clark family's rules were strict, especially the Matriarch's. If Barbara liked Daniel, there was a chance Georgina might have to get divorced soon. As she thought about it, Georgina felt she might have no choice but to divorce Nicholas if that happened, even though their three years of marriage lacked emotional attachment. Suddenly, she remembered the mystery of who gifted her the pair of Crystal Love heels. She looked at Daniel and finally asked, "Daniel, I have a question." "I'm all ears," Daniel replied. "The pair of Crystal Love heels, were they from you?" Georgina probed. Daniel's face twisted with irritation at the question. He sighed sharply and grumbled, "Gina, bringing that up annoys me. Yes, I gave you a pair, but they were just imitations worth three hundred thousand dollars your husband couldn't afford. But they're in pieces since he broke them." Georgina bit her lip, feeling upset. She softly clarified, "No, I mean the Crystal Love heels I'm wearing now. Were they from you?" "What?" Daniel was startled as he looked at her feet. A pair of elegant, noble high heels adorned Georgina's feet and were indeed Crystal Love. Daniel was taken aback. The heels before him were clearly the real deal, far superior to his imitations. Even as a man, he knew these were the genuine thing with just one look. Any woman wearing them would exude nobility and sophistication. Daniel felt a heavy weight on his shoulders as he nervously swallowed. "These pair of shoes, is it from you?" Gina asked once more, unable to think of anyone else who could afford something so expensive. Many men pursued her, but she knew they were wealthy, primarily second-generation kids who couldn't drop thirty million on fancy heels. As for Daniel, despite being penniless and cut off from the Godfrey family, he knew these Crystal Love heels were sent to Georgina by someone else, and he wanted to find out who was trying to win her heart. He didn't want this opportunity to slip through his fingers, so he claimed the gift himself. "Gina, now that it's come to this, I'll tell you the truth, I sent it," Daniel nervously admitted. "Really? But I asked you earlier, why didn't you admit it?" Gina questioned, her face full of curiosity. Daniel averted his gaze and mumbled, "I didn't mean to hide it from you. I just didn't want to upset you." "Why would I be upset?" Gina asked. "I know you like Crystal Love heels, and I wanted to get you one. But you didn't like the high-fashion ones I bought. So, I decided to sell my company and buy you these. I thought you might be angry with me for doing it. But Gina, you mean a lot to me, and I'll do anything for you. That's how much I love you," Daniel confessed, looking deeply into Gina's eyes. He then took out his phone and showed her a photo of his contract for leaving the company. "I decided to sell my company because the Godfrey family forced me out and wouldn't let me stay. Until now, I had no idea about the big shot I ticked off, which led to them deserting me. You might think I just cashed in my business to splurge on heels, but it's because of you," Daniel explained. Even though she didn't have the same feelings for him, Georgina was moved by Daniel's sincerity and action. "You did what?" Gina exclaimed, pursing her lips. "You sold your company for a pair of heels? That's stupid!" "I'm not stupid!" Daniel defended himself, taking her delicate hand in his. "Gina, I'm willing to do anything for you." In disbelief, Gina shrugged and retracted her hand, leaving Daniel behind. He couldn't help but watch her alluring figure walk away, a desire gleaming in his eyes. He was determined to make her his, imagining the flirtatious night he could have with her. Meanwhile, in Nightfall Oasis, Nicholas hadn't been this drunk for a long time, and today there was no limit to the number of shots he'd downed. "Mr. Godfrey, you've been drinking for hours," Cyrus said, holding up his glass of wine. "Forget the formalities," Nicholas replied. He gulped down his whiskey, glanced around, and added, "That surname comes with many responsibilities." Nicholas had been kicked out of the Godfrey family under the leadership of his sister-in-law, Jasmine. From that moment, he resisted being recognized as the second son. He took a risk and invested all his savings into buying shares in Pureflow. Despite facing doubts from others, he persisted. However, Jasmine accused him of trying to exploit the family's finances, leading to his expulsion. It was genuinely unfair on his part. He saved up the money he bought them with from his pocket money. It was his private property and not his family's. Nicholas also knew the underlying intent behind Jasmine's actions. There were two candidates for the future patriarch of the Godfrey family: himself and his older brother, Aiden Godfrey. He suspected Jasmine wanted to eliminate him from the picture, so the seat would belong solely to her husband, Aiden. "From now on, we'll address you as Sir Nicholas," Theodore declared, pulling Nicholas back to reality. Nicholas nodded, brushing off his somber past. "Sir Nicholas, I have something to tell you," Hazel said, approaching Nicholas. Nicholas took a sip of his wine and turned to Hazel. "What is it?" he asked, noticing how stunning she looked since the last time he saw her. Hazel's successful business and cosmetics line had worked wonders on her appearance. Hazel leaned closer and whispered in Nicholas' ear, "It's about your sister-in-law." "Get straight to the point and tell me," Nicholas replied. Hazel nodded and continued slowly, "Your sister-in-law approached me last year to help her purchase a limited-edition cosmetic product. During our conversation, I found out she had big ambitions." Nicholas smirked deviously, as he had already seen through his sister-in-law's intentions. Jasmine's ambitions were too obvious, or else why would she distance herself? Meanwhile, at Crimson Pedestrian Street in Warlington, Georgina and Gwen strolled outside the boutique after parting ways with Daniel. "Gina, you seem preoccupied. What's on your mind?" Gwen asked. Gina shook her head and mumbled, "Nothing, I'm alright." Her mind was filled with thoughts of Daniel and the surprise he had prepared for her. She couldn't believe he had sold his company just to buy her a pair of Crystal Love heels. "By the way, have you heard about that popular cosmetic product everyone's talking about in the city? It's in high demand, and women are eager to buy the limited stocks available!" Gwen said with excitement. Gwen's words piqued Gina's interest. She looked at her friend and asked, "I think I've heard of it. Was it the La Prairie Collection?" "Yes! I really want to get my hands on the collection!" Gwen exclaimed, her eyes shining with anticipation. The two friends laughed together. Among many topics women can discuss, cosmetics and clothes are always favorites. Recently, there was a buzz about a cosmetics brand. With Valentine's Day approaching, Summer Cosmetics launched the La Prairie Collection. Each set cost five hundred and twenty thousand dollars, and the woman behind the brand, Hazel Collins, was truly the queen of cosmetics. While that price might be steep for some, it didn't deter any woman who wanted to own this exclusive collection. However, getting hold of it was near impossible without the right connections or influence.
