At her whims, Blaire's stiletto grazed on the marble floor as she stomped her foot and said, "Make him kneel and throw him out." "Are you deaf? Didn't you hear what Ms. Smith said? Kneel!" Wyatt roared. The other guys came forward with baseball bats at hand. "Or else, don't blame me for not showing mercy," Wyatt warned. His eyes tinged with satire as he continued, "Quit being stupid and get down on your knees. If you show obedience, you can leave this place unscathed." Blaire couldn't hold back and burst into laughter. She then strutted forward, retrieving her phone from her purse, elated to capture the humiliation before her eyes. As long as Nicholas wimped out and kneeled in front of her, she'd record and send it to Gina. "What if I refuse?" Nicholas refuted firmly. Seeing how unfazed Nicholas was, Blaire furrowed her brows in vexation. "Wyatt beat him to his knees," she urged. "Leave this t**t to me," Wyatt said as he swung his arm twice, seized Nicholas by the collar, and knocked him down. Nicholas fell to the floor, holding his bruised face, and was about to get up when a loud voice resonated outside. "You bastard!" someone growled. Suddenly, the door slammed open, revealing five prominent figures and caught everyone off guard. The owner of Nightfall Oasis, Cyrus Lockwood, strode forward with a refined demeanor. Followed by Theodore. "It seemed like this i***t wasn't afraid to lose face today," Eric Myers said with a dignified aura. No wonder he was the mind behind the multinational success of Primrose Real Estate Company. "I agree," Hazel Collins, the owner of Summer Cosmetics, added, gesturing towards Clint Elton, the General Manager of Pureflow Petroleum Company. "Just look at his face. He doesn't need a foundation to cover how thick-skinned he is," she continued, with Elton nodding in agreement. At that moment, a smile budded on Nicholas' lips as he looked at the familiar faces. They were all old friends who used to be poverty-stricken but now rose from rags to riches. When Nicholas had money to spare, he had been generous to them all in the past. It was indeed a leap of fate–their hard work paid off, and now they've all made names for themselves and accumulated wealth through their business ventures. "Bastard!" Cyrus growled, landing a violent punch on Wyatt, making him stumble. Flabbergasted, Wyatt covered his swollen face as he blurted, "Mr. Lockwood! This person came and stirred up trouble. He's just a normal employee, and he dared to enter the 888 private room–" Before his words fell, Wyatt received another punch from Cyrus. "What's wrong with being a normal employee? Have you learned to look down on people after experiencing prestige? Is that what you had learned from my teachings as your Godfather?" Cyrus bellowed. "Godfather, I'm confused. Why are you taking up his side? Wasn't he just an outsider? Besides, he dared to hit me." Wyatt reasoned out. With his mouth set in a grim line, Cyrus' temper frayed as he snarled, "Outsider, you say? Without this person, The Nightfall Oasis wouldn't even exist! This normal employee you're referring to was the second son of the Godfrey Family. The pocket money he had for a day would take you decades to earn!" A deafening silence filled the atmosphere as his words echoed in the room. Wyatt stood frozen on the floor and was dumbfounded! He had often heard from Cyrus that he had once worked with the Godfrey family before Nightfall Oasis was established. Cyrus Lockwood was appreciated by the second son of the prominent family, and Wyatt had never imagined that the shoddy man in front of him was the backbone of his Godfather's success. In disbelief, Blaire, who had previously talked big, was at a loss for words. She instinctively stepped back as she saw Nicholas standing before the reputable big shots in the business world. She couldn't risk offending him. 'How is this possible? He's clearly just a live-in son-in-law!' Blaire snarled in mind. Whenever she came over to Gina's house, Nicholas only did household chores. If she didn't feel like washing her clothes, she would take them to Gina's place and let Nicholas take care of them. 'But Cyrus had no reason to lie. Is mouth, is Nicholas really the second son of the Godfrey family?' "Sir, I'm sorry!" Wyatt exclaimed, bowing his head to Nicholas. In desperation, Wyatt blamed Blaire and yelled, "It was this woman's fault! I offended you because of her. You, cunning woman, leave this place!" "But we haven't signed the contract yet," Blaire stuttered in tremor. Blaire worked for a decoration company, and the renovation of Nightfall Oasis was a big project she shouldn't miss. The stakes were high, with a whopping one million grand if it was signed. Driven by the nature of business, Blaire kept this opportunity under wraps and instead planned to handle it privately. Although the commission would only be one million grand, there's a potential she could double the amount. Wyatt pointed at Blaire with a hostile glare and boomed, "Cut the crap! I wouldn't have offended Nicholas if it weren't for your blunder. Our contract's gone down the drain, and I'll report you to your boss for soliciting business privately. Your company has strict rules against that, and you could face legal action." As Wyatt spoke, Blaire's face turned pallid in dread. If her scheme were discovered, the company would take legal action and sue her. Compensation would be a small matter, but there's a risk of imprisonment. "Nicholas," Blaire called out, chewing her lips. She strode toward him, pulling up one of his arms as if she was pampering him. "Nicholas, I was wrong. Please give me a chance." Blaire consoled, coquettishly flaunting her charms. She never dreamt that one day she would apologize, nor did something out of shame for this loser! "Didn't you just ask me to kneel?" Nicholas sneered, his lips curled into a faint smile. Blaire's face contorted with regret as she bit her lips. "No! I'm taking back my words. I'll kneel and treat you like a god!" she uttered, almost a plea. With her last resort, Blaire knelt in front of Nicholas, her dignity and self-respect were thrown out. She clung onto Nicholas' leg and pleaded, "Nicholas, If my company knows I'm soliciting business privately, the consequences would be too serious. I am your wife's best friend. Can you please spare me for the sake of Gina?" "Of course," Nicholas responded firmly. His eyes tinged with mockery as he stated, "I'll spare you if you call me Sir." With those words, Nicholas scooted as he gazed down at Blaire's fragile expression. On her knees, Blaire quivered as her hand balled into a fist. How could she not understand Nicholas' intention? He intended to shame her in front of the elites. Without a choice, Blaire chewed her lips tightly and whispered, "S-Sir..." Her face flushed in humiliation. In the past, Nicholas was the person she detested the most, to the point where his mere presence disgusted her. But now, the table had turned, and she had surrendered all her dignity to him. "When you see me in the future, address me like this, got it?" Nicholas remarked that Blaire repeatedly agreed with a nod. "One more thing, I don't want Gina to know my identity. You know how to keep it under wraps, right?" Nicholas contested. He took a piece of aluminum gold cigarette from his pocket, placed it between his fingers, and lit it. "I will!" Blaire blurted as she glanced at Nicholas and continued, "Be at ease, don't worry, Mr. Godfrey. I won't say half a word about what happened today." With a satisfied nod, Nicholas waived Blaire off, telling her to leave, which Blaire understood. She quickly stood up and hurriedly made her way out of the place. "Mr. Godfrey, I apologize for the trouble. Rest assured that it will never happen in the future." Cyrus apologized, his gaze fixed on Wyatt, whom his men had taken care of. Before everyone left, they bowed to Nicholas. Cyrus, Eric, Clint, Hazel, and Theodore also stepped forward and respectfully lowered their heads to pay respect. "Mr. Godfrey, years ago, our existence had no value." Hazel stepped forward and continued, "If not for you and your generosity, we wouldn't be where we are now. When we heard you were here, we prepared a gift for you." As Hazel said this, she handed Nicholas an expensive wooden box. Hazel accidentally scratched Nicholas' car three years ago while handing out street fliers for her newly formed business. She did not run away and waited for Nicholas to return and compensate him. At that time, Nicholas saw an excellent character in Hazel and dumped her three hundred thousand dollar start-ups. Five years have passed in the blink of an eye, and Summer Cosmetics has skyrocketed to the top of the world's leading companies. Nicholas took a deep breath as he opened the expensive wooden box. His eyes dilated the moment he saw what was inside. Gradually, Nicholas unfurled the scroll and discovered it was the well-known Leonardo Brook's creation, Peaceful Serenity! The Ancient painting was put to auction by an Italian Tycoon in Manhattan, which cost an arm and a leg. "Knowing that Mr. Godfrey was fond of antiques, calligraphy, and painting. We pooled our money and bought it from a collector." Eric chuckled, his skin was particularly dark, but his smile could entice both sexes. "Since Mr. Godfrey's birthday is around the corner. This is the birthday present we prepared for you." Theodore added. Nicholas slapped his forehead as he recalled his birthday would be three days away. He had completely forgotten about it. In previous years, no one remembered his birthday at all. Everyone celebrated the birthday of the Clark Family's grandmother, which fell on the same day he was born. However, some still remembered someone's birthday more than the celebrant. Meanwhile, Daniel and Georgina were seated inside a famous cafe in Warlington. Everyone walking on their way was starstruck at the sight of them together. However, Daniel was sweating bullets, trying to find a way to tell Gina about his bankruptcy. He wanted to get hold of Georgina before she learned the truth and left him once she discovered it. Breaking the silence, Daniel gazed at Georgina affectionately and remarked, "Gina, I've decided to ask the Clark matriarch to ask your hand for marriage on her birthday!"
