Hard Decisions

Anna: Part One

Locked in the dungeon Anna was laying on the cot in the cell, before that she was chained to the wall. A healer came by to assess her mental state and suggested that she be put in a cell instead of being chained up, Jenna, her wolf spirit was weak. Thinking about this information a guard walked in with a tray of food. He opened the mini side door placing down the tray, “Eat, our Alpha king is a great King he feeds his prisoners.” He closes the door staring at Anna sternly. Anna gets up and walks over to the tray, looking down she saw that they had baked chicken with rice and broccoli and cheese. Opening the mini door on her side, the smell hit her hard making her stomach growl. Picking up the tray, Anna thought the food smelled good. As she sat down the guard turns around and goes back to standing at the door, he leaves it open so he could check to see if she’s eating. Anna takes a big bite of the chicken breast; the juices suffuse her tongue as she kept chewing. She gobbled down all her food, stretching she gets up and walks back to the mini side door placing the tray back inside. The guard walks back to the cell opening the mini side door, “you get a snack in three hours” he says as he walks back out the door kicking the door closed behind him. Anna walks back to the cot burping and lays down looking up at the ceiling. She tries to contact her wolf; Jenna has been quiet since Friday when Ethan sent them there. Anna takes a deep breath trying to go in her subconscious, she closed her eyes while releasing her breath fading to the back of her mind. “Jenna? where are you, why won’t you talk to me?”, Anna looks around the empty space not seeing her wolf anywhere. She takes a few more steps and there laying passed out was her wolf, Anna quickly moves to her side touching her face. “What’s wrong Jenna?”. Jenna whines while looking up at Anna, “You have doomed us for the last time, you don’t accept our mate”. Anna looks down in her lap Jenna lays her head back down and continues to talk, “I live to be with our mate without him I am weak and useless we can no longer shift because you chase after a man instead of his wolf. What’s wrong with the Gamma warrior we are destined to be with?” Anna thinks to herself before she answers, “It’s like with Ethan there’s this light that shines all around him that makes him so radiant, I can’t explain it.” Anna thinks for a quick second and says, “I can’t help but be drawn to him.” Jenna fades a little and Anna can’t feel her jaw anymore, tiredly Jenna speaks. “I need him, I’m gonna fade soon. The Moon Goddess would bless me to another, who is wolf-less. Without me you can chase whomever you want.” A sharp pain could be felt all over Anna’s body as if her wolf was being ripped from her body. Anna could feel a force rip her out her subconscious, covering her mouth a single tear falls down Anna right side of her face. She takes a deep breath and forces herself back into her subconscious and her nose started to bleed. Anna didn’t stop she focused only on Jenna, reaching her she got down to her level and says. “I will give up this chase after Ethan to chase after you. I will get to know our mate so we can grow our bond stronger. Please Jenna I am worthy of you!” Jenna brightens just a smidge and looks in Anna’s eyes, “You will acknowledge our mate?” Anna smiles at her wolf and says, “Yes I need to show you my love, I did not mean to make you feel worthless and weak.” Jenna, nods her head and closes her eyes again, “I will hold on much longer.” Anna comes back and her nose is still bleeding, getting up trying to get the guards’ attention she passes out falling hard to the floor from the blood loss. The guard outside the door rushes in when he hears the smack to the floor. Looking around he sees a pool of blood on the cot all the way to where she fell, lying on the floor as her nose still bled. He quickly mind-links for a pack doctor and runs to unlock her cell. As he turns her over, he could feel that her skin had a chill. He picked her up bridal style and carried her down the steps to the front door waiting for the ambulance to come. As they pulled in front of the building two nurses jumped out and ushered the guard to place her body on the stretcher in the van. Strapping her down they pull off making their way back to the hospital.

Unknown: Part Two

(Beep…. Beep…. Beep) Anna was hooked up to a machine that helped her breath, with an IV drip attached to a banana bag. After being admitted in the hospital she was immediately brought for a brain scan, since they were told she fell on the floor they did a whole rutine check-up. “Paging Dr. Hudson, code green, Dr. Hudson, code green”. Boomed from the intercom every five minutes, after an hour of still calling for assistance no one showed up. Anna’s life was hanging in the balance, as the nurse calls her father Brady to let him know what is going on. A well-dressed man steps up to the counter. He asked, “I’m new here and in response to your code green, I can handle it. Point me to the patients’ room.” The nurse stares at him with her mouth gapped open, “What’s your name sir?”. He turns to face her and smiles, “Dr. Dean Rivers, I’m the new hire, would you also be so kind and show me to the patient room?”. The nurse steps from behind the counter handing him Anna’s chart, inside included test results and the scans. She smiles at him and walks him to Anna’s room; he takes twenty minutes and looks over everything. He got a real sense of what was going on physically, he walks up to her bed and looks down at her face. “There are no reports on her wolf”, he says as he places both hands on each side of her head. He focuses trying to delve into her subconscious, as he reaches deeper and deeper, he could feel himself being pushed back. He holds his breath as he forces himself to focus harder. “Help, help us!” was heard all around him as he was being kicked out of her mind. Coming out he loses his balance as blood trickled from his nose. Reaching for a napkin he wipes his nose, “I never experience this issue before it’s like there fighting to survive”. The nurse gasp as he puts the napkin in his pocket, but she stayed by the end of the bed waiting to be asked to do anything. He realizes that he will have to use magic to maybe reach her, focusing on a spell he places his hands back on the side of her head again. He took a deep breath preparing himself to cast without his wand, “Tolle animam meam in altum Dept in tenebris adversus veritatem” (take me deep into the soul dept where the darkness hides the truth). At the end of his sentence, he saw Anna's Wolf spirit hanging on to Anna’s spirit and she looked like she was just barely hanging on, Jenna looks up at Dean and howls “Help us!”. Dean feels a force push him back and he flies back into the wall, the nurse screams as she runs towards him. “Dr. Rivers are you alright?”. He calmly puts his left hand up while getting up, “I’m fine, I still can’t figure out how this happen; but it looks like I do have part of the solution. Please call the Alpha King, we’ll need his permission to do this.” The nurse shakes her head and runs out of the room. Dean looks back at Anna taking a deep breath healing himself.
