The Prisoner

I sighed and tossed my black medium length ringlet curls over my shoulder and sighed as my big brown eyes stared back at me.

I was absolutely exhausted already and the day only just began but what can I expect when I work in a prison after all.

I looked down at my bare ring finger and sighed again at remembering my parents constantly complaining about me being single, not being married and not having any children.

I was 25 years old and to my parents, I was 80 years old with no husband, children or a life at all.

I thought I was still young and had as much time in the world for all that stuff but to them I was getting extremely old.

"We have another one for ya Armani" Diego's voice pulled me from my thoughts 

Diego was one of the guards here in the prison and although he was attractive and always trying to get me to go out with him I was interested.

I had seen half of the stuff he did to the inmates in here and although they might have done horrible things I didn't think it was right to beat them.

I didn't want to be involved with someone who used their power to their own selfish needs 

"Great" I groan which makes him chuckle 

My mouth immediately hit the ground when Diego roughly shoved the great Knox Gagliano into the room.

Knox Gagliano was a mafia leader and he got thrown into prison for the biggest drug trafficking anyone has ever seen.

"You want me to un cuff this criminal? Are you crazy?" He turns to me with bewilderment 

"That's what I said isn't it?" I place my hands on my hips and I ignore the snicker from behind me 

"You try anything and I'll happily put a bullet between those eyes" Diego threatened and pointed at Knox's forehead after he uncuffed him which only made Knox smirk

I literally choke on the air at his words while Diego turns red with rage and Knox smirks in satisfaction.

My body tenses when I realise that I was now alone in the room with the famous Knox Gagliano.

"There's a guard right outside this door," I say shakily while I stare up at him with wide eyes 

"I thought you weren't scared of me?" He teases into my ear 

"Wrapping your very large hand around my throat is an attempt to take my life" I hiss at him and wrap my hand around his to try and pry it off

A few months later

“I’m so sorry” I sigh sadly and dab at the cut under his eye

It took me 30 minutes to fix Knox up and he sat there with a content smile on his face which made me smile.

“That’s because I’m one of the only girls you’ve seen in years but I’m sure you’ll have many to choose from when you get out,” I say softly as I finish up his bandage 

My heart stung at hearing my own words and Knox only clenched his jaw and stared down at me with dark eyes.

“Knox!” I laugh

I smile down at him while he smiles back and then he snakes his arm around my waist and pulls me to him and then his smile suddenly drops.

“What the f**k” Knox frowns and I gasp when his hand suddenly finds my baby bump 

“Knox-“ I whisper with fearful eyes 

“You’re pregnant,” He says with wide eyes 

“Obviously” I roll my eyes and that makes the edge of his mouth lift upwards for a second 

“Is it..” he trails off while he stares up at me 

“Is it yours? Of course, it’s your baby” I roll my eyes at him again 

His eyes widen at my words and his eyebrows furrow together at my confession which makes my heart drop.

Shit! I knew he wouldn’t want the baby 

“That- I- wow” he rambles before he smiles suddenly 

“You’re not mad?” I ask with suspicion 

“What? Of course not! Why would I be mad?” He frowns up at me 

“We barely know each other and I thought you would want me to get an abortion like everyone else” I sigh 

“They what?! I would never want you to kill our baby. Do you think that I r***d you?” He asks me with serious eyes 

“God no! I gave you consent and I wanted to sleep with you so of course I don’t think that you r***d me.” I frown at him 

“I would never force myself onto you or anyone else” he frowns

“I know we don’t know everything about each other but I plan to know everything about you” he smiles up at me and places his hand against my stomach 

“And I plan to get to know everything about you” I giggle and kiss his head 

“I can’t wait to meet our baby” he smiles, shakes his head at the thought and then leans down and kisses my stomach 

“Me too” I smile and thread my fingers through his hair 

And I can’t wait to get to know you and spend every day that I can with you
