Angel savored the delectable dinner that Rose had prepared. Roasted chicken with rosemary and thyme, mashed potatoes, and baby carrots. Feeling as if it had been weeks since she had eaten, Angel had seconds of everything, with prompting from Deacon. He knew she was still hungry but was afraid to eat more because she was not overly thin. Finally, after a spirited conversation, Angel gave in and had more potatoes and gravy. She made sure to save a small portion of chicken for being split among the animals for their evening meal. They had done such an excellent job of staying with her all day that she felt they needed a treat.
