    Angel felt cold, desperately she wanted to reach for a blanket in hopes that it was all a dream. She could hear muffled voices but fear kept her from opening her eyes to look around. Both voices were male, one much deeper than the other. Trying to keep her breathing calm, she strained to hear the conversation.      "You never said that your lifemate was a mortal."     "I believe that point is irrelevant. You know we do not have a choice in who we are destined to be with."     "I'm just saying that it will be hard for her to accept everything that is our world."     "Well, she is adapting rather well so far. How much did you give her? Should she not be awake by now?"     "Everyone reacts to shine differently, but it is not something commonly given to humans. It might be awhile."
