I watched as Javier retreated to his car, not sure what to do with myself. It was past midnight and the moon was up in the middle of the sky. My heart thumped in harmony with the muffled beats coming from inside the club.
The press meeting my mom organized for Carlos and me was just a few hours away—and the logical thing to do would be to get into my car and drive home, but I wasn't ready to return to my lonely bed. Javier is just a few feet away, am I gonna let him disappear into the night? So, like a wolf following the scent of blood, I followed the scent of the man I desired more than anything in the world.
