Out of the darkness emerges Dameon’s face. My heart starts pounding just like it does every time I’m near him. I beg and plead with my body to not react to his presence, but it doesn’t work. The Earth has a greater chance of falling out of orbit than I do of falling out of love with Dameon.
His strong hand reaches out and caresses my face, making my skin tingle with excitement. His thumb traces the line of my jaw before he leans in, but pausing just before his lips touch mine. I can feel the heat of his body radiating over my skin, the rhythm of his heart against my chest.
He looks down and uses his finger to gently trace the outline of the Mark on my shoulder, causing it to burn. I hiss through my teeth at the delicious pain that it brings.
