Victoria eventually left again.
This time… for good.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: FULL CIRCLE
One evening, Hailey walked past the same street where everything had begun.
And there she was.
The old woman.
Waiting.
“You’ve done well,” the woman said.
Hailey smiled.
“I understand now.”
“Do you?” the woman asked.
“Yes,” Hailey said.
“Knowing someone’s thoughts isn’t love.”
“And what is?” the woman asked.
Hailey thought for a moment.
“Listening… trusting… choosing them every day.”
The old woman smiled.
“Then my work here is done.”
And just like before…
She disappeared into the crowd.
Back at the office…
Adrian stood by the window.
“You’re late,” he said without turning.
“Traffic,” Hailey replied.
He turned.
Walked toward her.
“I was thinking…”
She raised an eyebrow playfully.
“Should I be worried?”
He smirked slightly.
“No. You should be listening.”
She smiled.
“I am.”
He took her hand.
“I don’t want this to just be work anymore,” he said.
Her heart raced.
“I want a life with you.”
Silence.
Soft.
Beautiful.
Hailey squeezed his hand.
“Then let’s build one.”
