“Thank you. I thought I would be overdressed.” “You can’t be overdressed. This is your party.” “My party?” Claire glanced around. There was nobody else in sight although she noted a lot more lights on downstairs too. “Will I know anybody?” she asked. “There is only one way to find out.” Claire took a deep breath, smoothed her dress again and answered George’s smile. “Let’s do this.” “That’s the spirit.” George offered her his arm, and they took off in the direction opposite the formal dining room, unlike she had expected. “Where are we going?” she whispered. “To the ballroom.” “The ballroom,” Claire mouthed to herself.
