Hero test registration

1196 Words
Today, everyone has been gathering at the sector 53 United Heroes headquarters. This building is built after the previous bombing incident, and it has a better security system. Just before someone entered the building, they have to hand over their identification card and could take them back again when they leave the building. Today, the guards at the entrance are very busy since today there will be a hero examination test. The test itself is only done once a year, so it is constantly attracting many people. Everyone who dreamed of becoming a hero will never miss this event. Not to mention that other than regular people taking the test, the students of the United Heroes school are taking them too. This event is always the center of attention since companies scouted potential heroes that they would sponsor as early as when they got their hero licenses. They will be looking for people with a lot of potentials that could become the face of their company. That is why the event of the hero entrance test is open for the public to see. In front of the sector 53 United Heroes headquarters today, as the people are lined up together to enter the building, a long white limo stopped in front of the building. A neatly dressed butler comes out of it and immediately opened the passenger door at the back. “Young master, we have arrived.” From the opened door, a neatly dressed young man comes out. Just from looking at his designer shoes that are made from 100% leather, everyone can feel the rich aura emanated from him. From head to toe, there’s no better word to explain it than ‘expensive’. His neatly combed hair is something arranged by his personal hairdresser. The suit cost more than $500,000, and the white color attracts everyone’s attention. Following after the first butler, five maids and five stewards lined up in front of him after coming out from another car behind while another two are spreading the red carpet. “Is this the place for the hero examination?” “Yes, young master. Young master, do you really want to become a hero? Master has already said if it is just to get famous, he could get you on a TV easily using his connection and make you a superstar.” “Neil, I’ve told you before that it isn’t about popularity. Anyway, let’s register for the examination, shall we?” “Yes, young master.” Seeing the spectacle, the people around somehow make way for the two stewards to open the red carpet for the young master to step on while another two from the original five rolls it back up again behind the young master. “Please give me your identification card.” Neil steps forward and gives some paper to the guard. “Okay, you can come in.” Without any trouble, the young master and his retainers entered the building. That bizarre sight isn’t the end since there’re many eccentrics and unique individuals who are signing up for the hero examination today. Not long after the long limo, a giant bird landed in front of the buildings too. Given its wingspan that is almost ten meters wide, it is better called as a private jet. There are two people on the bird’s back, one young and one old. “Grandmother, I’ll be going down, okay?” “Yeah, good luck. I will pick you up later.” The bird departed again and disappeared from view as fast as it appeared. The person that the giant bird drops off is a young girl with messy long brown hair. If someone looks at her hair, even from a distance, they could see twigs, leaves, and, more importantly, something moving inside her hair. Her clothes are a simple green-colored one piece, and strangely enough, she isn’t wearing any shoes. She quietly lined up to enter the United Heroes headquarters like the other. Although she is pulling the attention from the people around her, nobody approaches her. Just from the entrance where a giant bird brings her down, the people around should have known that she comes from an influential family. After all, only one family uses giant birds among the superheroes. One after another, fantastic entrances are shown in front of the sector 53 United Heroes headquarters. Looking at all of that, Max is waiting for the queue line to dwindle down a bit before deciding that he will go and register. After all, today’s weather is quite hot, and Max is taking a rest under a tree shade while keep on fanning himself with the wind. “Look at that, some comes with their families, and some comes alone. Mom, Dad, if you guys are still alive, you must be like them too, right? Giving me some encouragement and will watch the hero examination as spectators.” Just when Max is thinking about other things, a message comes into his phone. “Max, do your best and don’t be sad that I couldn’t be there to watch you. Also, don’t forget to hold back.” A short message from the only person on his contacts is enough to Max smile and ease off his restless heart. Although he already knows his own strength and could pass the test comfortably, he is still nervous. The message from Kalina erase all of his doubt as he stands up and walks towards the building’s entrance to line up just like the others. Inside the building, the air-conditioned room immediately refreshed Max. It didn’t take long for him to find the registration booth as there were many people lined up in front of it. The process is quicker than earlier since everyone just needed to take a number as the data has been filled online beforehand. When it is Max’s turn, he quickly got his number as Kalina has taken care of the other things as his sponsor, including the payment. Although it is said that everyone can become a hero, there are still some requirements to fulfill. Firstly, your superpower should at least reach the D-rank, or you will be wasting everyone’s time. Secondly, to reduce the chance of people that just joined the test for fun, each registration for the test needed $200,000. It is non-refundable and one of the biggest hurdles for people to take the test. Before meeting Kalina, this is one of the reasons why Max couldn’t take the hero examination test to get his license. It is expected, considering how much money is spent to make the equipment used for the test, and to be honest, $200,000 isn’t a lot compared to the money that they will earn if they become a hero. Even as a D-rank hero, they could earn $500,000 on average per year. If they got sponsored by a company, this number could go even higher.
