Max vs Linda II

Knowing that it wasn’t safe to come near shades and even his own shadow is dangerous, Max summoned a gust of wind below the sole of his foot and jumped up. Max thinks that if he isn’t touching the ground, Linda won’t be able to use his shadow as a hiding place.

Max looked down as he is now a few meters above the ground. He looked around, but he couldn’t find Linda anywhere or any weird disturbance in the air. Then, suddenly, a shadow flashes by, and it is a shadow dart attack that Linda sends.

If Max isn’t of wind-element, it would be a dire situation as he couldn’t dodge mid-air. However, Max could command the wind to give his body a push and dodged the attack. Whenever his body is losing momentum and landed on the ground, he immediately jumped up again. This continues several times as Linda sends shadow darts from an unknown place, and Max is doing his best to avoid the attack.

Suddenly, when Max is still in the air, he could see something different from earlier occasions. This time, when the shadow darts went by past him, Linda’s upper body appeared from the shadow darts.

She immediately launches a punch towards Max, and it hit him squarely on his back. Max is oblivious to how Linda is able to attack him since it was done from his back. Max doesn’t have eyes on the back of his head, so he still didn’t realize how she is able to do this.

Max body is now freefalling from the air. Before he hits the ground, he managed to open his eye and, in a fraction of seconds, summoned the wind to act as a cushion and mitigate the force of his fall. After that, Max managed to recover from the fall, but before he could do anything, Linda appeared behind him and sent out a kick which he couldn’t block once again.

Finally, Max realizes why Linda’s hero name is the shadow dancer. Facing her head-on like this, he couldn’t even see where she attacks from. As for the audience watching the fight, she is like dancing with her graceful moves, appearing here and there on the battlefield.

Max knows that although her attack doesn’t deal considerable damage, he couldn’t stay powerless and being a punching bag like this. So he immediately summoned wind armour to protect his body. This time, he puts more power into it.

In the next instance, Linda attacked him. She could feel her fist hurting from the contact as if the wind armour attacked her the same time she lands hers.

This time, Max could feel the direction in which she attacked him and immediately retaliates by turning his body and launches a wind bullet towards her. This is possible since the attack Linda performed is reduced in power thanks to the wind armour.

Max attack doesn’t hit Linda, but at least now he could get a vision of her. Of course, he wouldn’t let her do as she pleases and disappears into the shadow.

Max performed the skill that he used against Heinrich. He summoned a gust of wind below Linda in the hope to sends her body upwards. His technique succeeds as Linda’s body is immediately sent into the air.

This is Max’s chance to attack, and he won’t miss it. So, with a chain of wind bullets, he launches his attack. Linda is surprised when her body is thrown upwards by Max’s skill, but she isn’t panicked. Instead, seeing the wind bullets attack that Max sends towards her, she summoned two shadow daggers.

In the air, she could still spin and move her body. Although it wasn’t as fast as when she is on the ground, she managed to slice every wind bullets that Max sends towards her.

She is just like dancing in the air while doing that, and a lot of viewers is converted into her fans right now, especially from the male audiences.

Max didn’t think that his wind bullet could hurt her in the first place. He already prepared a follow up as he runs forward towards her. When Linda landed on the ground, Max is already in front of her with his wind gauntlets ready.

Linda also gripped the two shadow daggers on her hand and prepared to engage in close combat with Max.

*clang clang clang*

Loud sounds of metal crashing into each other can be heard as Max and Linda traded blows. However, no one seemed to be having the advantage as every time the wind gauntlet attacked; it is stopped by the shadow dagger and vice versa.

Linda’s movement is very nimble, and Max didn’t doubt her hero’s name, shadow dancer. Max, however, isn’t nervous at all since while he didn’t seem to be winning the exchange, he managed to limit Linda’s ability to utilize the shadow.

Max then feel that something is clamping down on his leg, and he peeked downwards to see shadow tentacles holding him in place and giving Linda more space to manoeuvre around him. Max replied by strengthening the wind armour around his body and once or twice, Linda’s attack that he couldn’t defend by using the gauntlets his the armour without inflicting any wound to him.

“I think we should use our deciding move since this could continue forever. Your attack does nothing to me, and we’re just spending our energy like this.”

“I agree.”

Linda notices that all of her attacks don’t seem to be hurting Max and knows that their ultimate move will be the deciding factor to win this match.

Linda, who is standing some distance away from Max, is spinning her body as the shadows converged from the ground and turned herself into a cocoon. When she emerges later, she has been covered in a dark-grey coloured armour and looked valiant. She also isn’t holding small daggers anymore as a long spear is in her hand.

Looking at her form right now, Max can think of something. Utilizing her shadow movement ability, she will launch a one-hit attack that is deadly and have enormous power. Since Linda is opting for a close-range finisher, Max also needs to reciprocate the sentiment. This time, Max compressed the wind into a ball form and gathered it in his hand. This move isn’t causing a large typhoon around him or an earth-shattering phenomenon, but inside the small ball that Max is holding, all his power is concentrated inside.
