While Max gets back from Master Tenshi’s place using his bike, the group that returned to the city with Muto using the United Heroes association’s bus gets off one by one. Before that, Muto announced something for them inside the bus.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you. The association has received the report from Master Tenshi. It could be said that your promotion to C-rank is already set in stone. We just need to deal with several paper works, and you will be a C-rank hero. We will also do some promotion since that is one of the reasons we’re doing this, to improve the association image in the public’s eye. I hope you will cooperate with us.”

The first one that gets off is Alan. Getting off the bus, he immediately walks towards his home. It was in the outer suburbs of the city where middle-rank families live.

“Mom, Dad, I’m home.”

When he entered his house, his siblings and parents are already there to welcome him. After all, it’s been one month since they last see each other. It is a warm scene that is to be expected coming from a caring family. Compared to Max, that has nobody welcoming him, it is entirely 180-degree different.

The second one that is returning is Iki. He didn’t return home but towards his agency. In there, many peers and colleagues welcomed him.

“Everyone! Look who’s back! Hahaha, I survived the training! I guess I will become a C-rank hero now.”

“Wow, this troublemaker brat is back. If someone like you could become a C-rank hero, I guess it won’t be long before I get promoted to B-rank.”

“Tch, we’re on the same rank now. Does it hurt your pride to be in the same rank as me? Hehe.”

“Not really. I always know that you got something in you. I just didn’t expect you to be C-rank so fast. Anyway, tell me more about the training camp. How is it? Tell me, is Elica’s personality is terrible? She’s the kind of cold beauty that is my type.”

Although some of the more reserved ones couldn’t get along well with him, he is still accepted for his fiery personality. After all, no one could really hate him for being spirited, motivated, and energetic. They even have a celebration party since it can be said that Iki is now officially a C-rank hero now.

The third person that gets off the bus is Kieran. His home is located in a high-class apartment in the middle of the city. The entire apartment building belongs to his family, and he is immediately greeted by the people from the entrance to the reception.

Entering the lift towards his home, he reached the highest floor where the penthouse is located. With maids bowing down to him as he walked by, he arrived and knocked in front of a room.

“Come in.”

After hearing the words from inside, Kieran opened the door and got in.

“Father, I’ve returned.”

At the end of the room that seemed to be a mix of library and office, a middle-aged man is sitting on the desk. His feature resembled Kieran with an added ofo charisma on it.

“How is the training camp?”

“I can say that I’ve learned a lot of things. I definitely made a lot of improvement, and with that being said, my promotion to the C-rank is confirmed.”

“That’s good. How’s about your peers? Do you think you’ve gained valuable connections this time?”

It was clear as to how Kieran managed to be a social butterfly. With his father emphasizing the connection within society, all things are divided into profit and loss. If the relationship you’re building will only incur in loss, there is no reason to make that connection in the first place.

“Yes. It can be said that the people that I’ve gone with to the training camp are the future rising stars of the heroes’ world. Not to mention Elica from the Rosebud family and Giovanni from the Goldlock family are there too. Just having the connection to the two of them is worth it.”

“Good. You can rest first and tell me about the details later.”

With the dismissal, Kieran goes out of the office to rest in his room. However, he feels bitter since he is just another tool to build relations and get profit in his father's eye.

“Father, one day, I will make you realize that having me as your son is the biggest and most profitable relation you could ever have.”

Elica as the fourth person to get off the bus went back to her family's mansion. It can be seen just from the gate alone how big this place is since the estate's main building can’t be seen from the entrance.

She has a car waiting for her to take her back to the main building. As soon as she entered the luxurious mansion that could even house 50 people to live simultaneously, an old maid greeted her.

“Young lady, you have arrived.”

“Is father at home?”

“Answering the young lady, the master is currently outside.”

“Is that so? Prepare hot water for me to take a bath.”

Entering the bathroom that is the size of a public swimming pool, Elica’s flawless body can be seen entering the bath. The steaming hot water releases steam, but soon after, it is gone as the water inside the bath turns cold. It is clearly because of Elica using her ability to turn the water cold.

“Father, what should I do to make you recognize me? I know you’re at home, but you’re making all kinds of excuses not to meet me. Am I really inferior compared to my brother? Brother…”

The last one to gets off the bus is Giovanni. He didn’t go back home but to one of the companies that the Goldlock family owns.

“Young Master, you have returned.”

The one who greeted him is the butler that used to accompany him to the hero examination test and his personal butler.

“Yes. Is there anything important happening when I am gone?”

 “No. It’s just the master called once again. He is asking when you will go back home and take over some companies.”

“*sigh* You should know very well that the reason I become a hero is to escape those boring responsibilities. Don’t mention this again. Anything else?”

“None, young master.”

“Alright, prepare some food for me. I haven’t got my lunch.”

“Understood.”

Giovanni looked at the building that belonged to his family. The Goldlock family have tens of this kind of buildings as their wealth can be considered among the richest in the world. As the head of the family, it is natural that his father expects Giovanni to take over the family business in the future. However, Giovanni doesn’t show any interest and instead chooses to become a hero.

“Living a life that has been planned for you, can you consider that as living? Are you raising a son or a pet robot? Father, I hope you will understand my decision one day.”
