Hyacinth vs Max

“Hyacinth is here!”

Norton realized that the situation has turned dire for their team. Not to mention that they haven’t been able to disturb the two earth-elemental heroes from channeling their big move.

Chloe's expression also turned bitter as she realized that she couldn’t show her best in this arena.

“This arena is so annoying! Argh!”

Just when the big move from the earth-element heroes is about to be launched, a great tremor occurred. It seemed that the area around Max and the rest has turned into quicksand, and a huge rock hand is erected. It seemed that in the next few seconds, the huge hand would flatten them as they couldn’t move due to the quicksand. Chloe turned her water shield into a water sphere covering her body while Norton surrounded himself with fire.

Max, who is staring at Hyacinth and the big bird also forced to create a whirling wind around him. They are ready for the impact when something unexpected happened. Linda, without them noticing, has been gone from their side.

She appeared behind the two earth-elemental heroes and, with twin dagger, poked the balloon, and it blew up.

“Donny and Calvin eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

The member of Hyacinth’s team is dumbfounded seeing what has just happened. In just a matter of seconds, the situation has changed from 4v4 into 2v4. However, it isn’t over yet since the colossal hand is still moving towards Max and the rest.

Although the two earth-elemental heroes have been eliminated, the move that they have summoned couldn’t be stopped. Max realized that it was a stupid move trying to defend against it. In the last moment, before the hand flattens him and his team member, Max can feel that their defense will be useless as the move's power has reached C-rank. Max then changed the whirling wind around him to be a strong stream of gust, pushing Chloe and Norton a few meters away, out of the collision zone.

Max also tried to move by summoning his wind power; for a second there; it seemed that Max is still within the attack range. The dust cloud is floating in the air as the force of the attack sends the sands into the air.

Chloe and Norton, who is pushed by Max away from the attack, realized that Max seemed unable to get away.

“Max!”

When they are still focused on seeing whether Max is alright or not, Hyacinth’s pet bird managed to come behind Norton, and with a peck, his balloon blew up.

“Norton eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

Linda couldn’t waste any chance as she also sneaked behind the enemy fire-elemental hero and used her dagger to pop it again.

“Rudy eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

Everything has happened so fast, and by the time Chloe get back to her sense, Hyacinth’s pet bird has eliminated her balloon.

“Chloe eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

The battle progressing at a fast pace as members from each team gets eliminated in succession. Finally, Linda appeared some distance away and now facing against Hyacinth and her pet.

Linda knows that her chance of winning is quite slim since although it was a one-on-one battle, it was more like two versus one, with Hyacinth being assisted by her bird. Linda fastened her grip on her dagger, and once again, she disappeared into her shadow.

Hyacinth closes her eye, and with her A-rank sensitivity, she tried to sense the movement of elements in the air. The next moment, Hyacinth opened her eyes, and she whistled inaudibly. Her pet bird seemed to hear her command as it moved toward a direction and attacked.

*clang*

The sound of metal clashing against each other can be heard as to where the bird’s beak attacked; Linda’s twin dagger is now defending against it.

“Ugh, this won’t be easy.”

Linda’s body then flashed a few times as she appeared and disappeared around the bird while releasing a flurry of attack. Jhonny, who is watching from outside of the arena, cheered out loud when he saw that.

“That’s Miss Linda's signature move, shadow dance! This is also why she is called the shadow dancer.”

Elegant, yet deadly. That is the kind of charm that Linda is showing right now. As time goes by, wounds after wounds started to appear on the bird’s body. Hyacinth still looked calm watching that as she knows that Linda couldn’t sustain her move for a long time.

It can be said that Hyacinth only used her energy to increase and buff the bird once in the beginning. As for Linda, she needs to maintain her ability and the energy expense is quite substantial. Just when Linda is getting tired, Hyacinth used her ability once more.

The bird gets enveloped in white light, and everybody can see with the naked eyes that the wound is healing and closing up at a fast rate. Looking at what has just happened, Linda feels helpless. Her energy is running out, and sooner or later, she will be defeated if this continues.

Just when Linda wanted to give up, something unexpected happened. A wind bullet appeared and aimed at Hyacinth’s balloon.

It was a perfect sneak attack, and the balloon seemed to be in danger. Hyacinth, however, didn’t have A-rank sensitivity for nothing. So just when everyone who is watching is sure that the balloon will blow up, another bird comes out from Hyacinth’s sleeve and blocks the attack.

“Damn! So close!”

The one who launched the sneak attack is no other than Max. However, when the elimination announcement is announced earlier, there’s no mention of Max being eliminated. So, returning back a few moments when the rock hand fell down and seemed to flatten Max, he is still within the attack range. By luck, since the two earth-elemental heroes aren’t there to control the attack, the hand falls rigidly to the ground, and Max managed to escape by a hair’s breadth by finding himself in the gap between the rock hand’s finger.
