Setting up an office

For the next two and a half months, Max diligently doing missions every day in order to make the required funds to set up his base and get a computer. Then, as he finished gathering all of the money, he quickly toured a nearby area to find a place.

At first, he was still confused about where to find the place to set up his base. Finally, he considered his home and the distance to Marie’s place and settled to find an area in the middle.

“This place rent is $5,000 per month. It has a bathroom, one room, one living room, kitchen, and dining area.”

While the property agent explained to him about the place, it was better than Max’s place. After all, Max’s current home is only a one-room apartment with a bathroom.

“We can also set up a high-speed internet for $350 per month. How is it? Would you like to see another place?”

“No, no need. This place is good. It’s very bright as the sun exposure is high. I would also like to install the internet as I will need it.”

“Shall we sign the agreement?”

“Okay.”

After finding the place, Max visited a computer shop that  Marie recommend to her.

“I would like to order a computer. I heard that this shop specialized in building a computer for an overseer that met the United Heroes standard.”

“Yes, you come to the right place. What kind of computer would you like to have?”

“My budget is $100,000.”

“We could build you a computer at that price. That’s the minimum budget for an overseer computer that met the United Heroes standard. Would you be okay with that?”

“Yes. I want that computer.”

“The process will be completed in five hours. Would you like to pick it up or have it delivered?”

“Please deliver it to this address.”

“Okay. Would you like to make the full payment now or just the deposit?”

“I’d like to make the full payment.”

After finishing the process, Max's heart bleeds, looking at the number of money that he spends. After all, it was his hard-earned money for the past three months.

Returning back to his new office, he is tidying up the place. The only room will be modified to be Marie’s area where the computer will be located. As for the living room, kitchen, and dining area, he has ordered an office table and chairs to transform it into an official base since the place doesn’t come with furniture.

Remembering Yuna’s team office, he tried to design the place to be similar to that since it was practical. He also bought a projector for Marie to display the information about missions and do briefing as the computer doesn’t come with that.

A few hours later, the computer and furniture that he ordered come. They are installed with the help of the delivery man, and the apartment soon turned into an office. Looking at it, Max feels satisfied since it looked clean and neat.

Not long after that, he contacted Marie that comes twenty minutes later. Marie signed the contract that Max has prepared, and from now on, they are officially a team.

“Big sis, are you coming here?”

“Yes. Today is an important date since you’ve set up your office. So I’ll come with some food to celebrate it.”

“That would be great. Marie is here too, so you should bring an extra portion.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be there in half-hour.”

*ding dong*

A half-hour later, the doorbell to the office ring and Max opened the door for Kalina.

“Tadaa! I’m here! Help me bring some of the food inside.”

“Big sis, you bought so many foods. Can we even finish it?”

“If you can’t finish it, then just put it in the refrigerator and heat it up later. Don’t tell me this place doesn’t have a refrigerator?”

“It doesn’t come with it, but I already buy one just in case.”

“How thoughtful of you. Alright, let’s set the table up.”

Since the furniture that Max orders makes this place an office, there isn’t a dining table, but luckily there’s a long coffee table with a sofa at the entrance as a simple waiting area, and that’s where they planned to have their celebration feast.

“Marie, we have a guest.”

Marie came out from her new office and is surprised to see Kalina there.

“Teacher?”

“Hello, Marie. How are you doing?”

“I’m doing good. Why are you here, teacher?”

The one who answered that question isn’t Kalina but Max.

“Big sis Kalina is my big sister and employer. She is the one sponsoring me since she is, in one way or another is our boss.”

“Ah! Is that so? I never thought that teacher is planning to build an agency.”

“Well, it wasn’t an agency as my only sponsored hero is this brat.”

“Big sis, who are you calling a brat?”

Kalina didn’t answer but pointed at Max then all of them laughed out loud after a bit of pause.

“Alright, let’s start our celebration.”

They were sitting on the sofa and enjoyed the food.

“Cheers! For our future.”

“For our future!”

There are a lot of foods that Kalina brought, and they couldn’t finish it all, so they cleaned up the mess they make and put the leftover in the fridge.

Max takes off his costume as they are eating earlier, and he revealed his real name to Marie.

“My real name is Max Air, and my hero’s name is Air Hero. So you can call me Max or Air, I don’t mind.”

“Speaking of name, Max, have you decided on the name of your office?”

“Eh, should I decide on a name?”

“Yes. That way, I could get your office a sign as a present, and it will be easier for others to find this place in the future.”

Max thinks for a while before he makes his decision.

“Since you’re the one who sponsored me and brought me back to the heroes’ world, let’s call it Kalina’s agency or K-agency for short.”

“Eh, you’re doing this to tease me, right?”

“I’m not, big sis. After all, I can only be here today because of what you’ve done. So it’s decided, the name will be K-agency.”
