"When I heard my bride was coming today, I expected just that lady" he pointed to my sister "But what I wasn't expecting was another nagging mother in-law"
"You! how on earth are you.......?" I said pointing at him in abject confusion
"Oppa is something wrong?" Alison asked looking back and forth between us
We kept staring at each other in total silence, his eyes filled with nothing but anger and rage, accompanied by his twitching jaw.
"Few minutes in my house and you're already making such a ruckus, I could hear your irritating yells all the way from my study!"
I gasped "Your house? you mean this is your house? Are you by any chance Brian Reyes???" I asked wide eyed in disbelief
"Are you stupid or are you just pretending to be stupid?" he responded bluntly
He threw his gaze to Alison "I won't further waste my time by asking why your lousy brother is here, I'm guessing my threat only succeeded in making things worse for me"
"Threat? what threat?" I said glancing between him an Alison
He beckoned to the maid "You! come here, take her things and lead her to my bedroom with immediate effect"
She bowed "Okay sir"
Quickly, she took Alison's luggage's walking up the staircase with Alison following behind who kept giving me a questioning look until they got out of sight. it was just me and this bastard in front of me, left alone in the living room. I already hated him more than he could ever imagine but Alison loves him so much that all I can do is endure his infuriating attitude.
He smirked "We meet again son...of...a...bitch, I hope you didn't really pee in your pants that day"
I clenched my jaw "Wow! i never knew such an I'll fated coincidence existed, If I'd known you were the jerk my sister was so into, I wouldn't have let her step a foot into this house"
He sneered "You talk like I want to ever set eyes on your family, while you're here live as though you don't exist. My life has really been sulking of recent, I now have two disgusting geeks in my home"
"Did you just call my sister a geek?" I exclaimed angrily
He chuckled. "No, I called both of you disgusting geeks, let's add worthless to that, disgusting worthless geeks who have nothing to offer me, and are only here to leech off me, I just didn't know she'll also shamelessly bring a relative along, there really isn't---"
"If you say one more word that slanders my sister, I'll wipe that smile off your stupid face" I said tightening my fists
"What are you gonna do? hit me? I wouldn't do that if I were you, if you dare lay a finger on me I'll immediately call off the marriage with your sister, trust me when i say she'll remain miserable for the rest of her life and it will be all your fault"
As much as I wanted to hit him, I couldn't deny the fact that he was damn right, Alison would be devastated if he were to call off the marriage. I don't want to ever be the one who ruined her happiness, I'll never be able to forgive myself.
He grinned in satisfaction "That's what I thought, Maids!!!!!"
Five maids instantly rushed towards him all bowing at the same time.
"Take him to the best visitor's room in the mansion, if he's going to be a leech, he should at least do it properly while he's here"
"Yes sir" they all said at the same time
He ignored my murderous glare walking further into the house.
A maid walked towards me "Sir if you don't mind I'll take your bag"
"f**k off! just show me where the damn room is! why is every f*****g thing about this house so irritating!" I snapped
She flinched "Ye.s...sir...I'm..very...sorry"
My conscience pricked as i stared at her beautifully innocent face. what has gotten over me? now I'm taking my anger out on an innocent maid? That bastard is really getting under my skin.
Walking side by side, she politely showed me to a room, standing at the door she bowed turning to leave when I quickly caught hold of her arm, she looked flustered looking around to see if anyone was in plain sight.
"Relax its not what you think, I just want to apologize, I shouldn't have been so rude, I'm sorry"
She blushed tucking a hair behind her ear, keeping her gaze off me. Her behavior was so cute that I didn't realize when my lips curled in a smile.
"Si.....r"
"Call me Alexander, I'll leave you to your work now, see you some other time okay?"
"Ok...sir"
She shyly walked away almost tripping because she kept stealing glances at me. I shook my head at how clumsy she was opening the door to be welcomed into the most glamorous room I had ever seen. The floor was decorated with a sea like live wallpaper, same as the walls, I could tells everything in the room cost a fortune.
As beautiful an attractive as the room was, I felt nothing but rage as I sat on the bed, remembering the words that bastard said to me, just as I always do when I'm upset I reached for my phone about to place a call over to mark when a call came in from my mum. I heaved a sigh before answering.
"Hi sweetie!"
"Hi mom"
"So how are you guys doing, isn't Brian such a sweet boy"
I rolled my eyes "Sweet? that has got to be a joke"
"Did something happen? should I come over? don't you like it there? maybe I should---"
"Mom relax.......nothing happened, everything's fine"
"Really?"
"Yes, we're doing great"
"That's nice, I just wanted to let you know you'll both be starting the same college as Brain from tomorrow, I already let Alison in on this"
"What!"
"I knew you'd be excited, you'll get to go with your rich in law to school everyday, isn't that just great?"
"uhm......i... guess so"
"Will check up on you guys later, take care sweetie"
"Oka---"
She hung up on me. I sighed again, lying in bed on my back just staring at the beautifully designed ceiling when I heard a notification sound from my phone, on checking it I saw a message from Mark.
"Come out, I'm outside"
What is this? I was about to call him when another message popped up.
"Let's go out, I drove a long way for this, the guards outside are so inflexible, they wouldn't even listen to a word I say, how annoying"
Wait! is he here? I quickly got out of bed, running out of my room, down the staircase. I was about to run through the front door when I quickly stopped in my tracks, almost bumping into Brain.
"Now you're blind?" he yelled glaring at me
"I have no time for you now, let's bicker later okay?"
I was about to walk past him when I suddenly felt his hand around mind, he was holding my hand but was still staring ahead like he wasn't doing anything.
"What...are you...doing? let go" I said in a shaky voice which came out as weak
Shit! why do I feel so intimidated by his presence? I have to stand on my feet to deal with this bastard.
"Where are you going?"
"What! what's your f*****g business?"
He frowned "Just answer the damn question you twerp"
"You're marrying my sister not me, I can go wherever I want without having to tell you any s**t!"
he tightened his grip around my hand making it hurt a bit
"Ah!!! let go of me, now! You told me to live as though I don't exist a few minutes ago, so why are you bothering me?"
"You think I give a s**t about you! all I want is a way to get you and your sister out of my household, since you desperately want to leave us both alone, don't blame me for anything that happens after nightfall, looking at her makes me sick in the stomach"
He angrily let go of my hand walking away, it took a whole lot of restraints to let him go without hitting him. I don't care if he insult's me but insulting my sister is unforgivable.
Fuming i stormed out of the house enraged. walking out of the compound I met mark resting on his car. As soon as he saw me he walked towards me with a smile but I completely ignored his presence getting into the passengers seat of his vehicle. Few seconds later he got into the drivers seat staring at me who had my gaze fixated on the side mirror.
"Hey, what happened?"
"Please I'd rather not talk about it, let's just go"
"Okay"
He fastened my seat belt for me before driving off, while on the road he kept throwing glances towards me much to my annoyance, until he parked in front of a restaurant.
I scoffed "A restaurant?"
"Isn't a restaurant your favourite place on earth, or anything with food?"
"Yea, I guess you're right"
"I'm sure food will make you feel much better, let's go eat until we blow up"
I smiled "Okay"
We got out of the car, entering into the restaurant, Mark kept ordering fried foods and dessert's for me but i wasn't really in the mood for food, taking not more than three spoons of anything he orders.
No matter how hard i tried, I couldn't get Brian's threat off my mind 'don't blame me for anything that happens after nightfall, looking at her makes me sick'.
What exactly was he referring to as anything? was it s*x or something more dangerous? there's no way he would hurt or touch her without her permission right? am I taking his threat fore granted or am I just over reacting.
"Lexxy! Lexxy!!!"
"huh?"
"You've been like this for hours, I can't take this anymore, I've never seen you reject food, what exactly is going on?"
"Hours?"
My heart skipped as i looked out the window, it was almost nightfall, the chilly night breeze blew against my skin. I can't gamble with my sisters life, I'm going to check to see if she's okay.
I stood to my feet rushing out of the restaurant, I could hear Mark call after me but that was the least of my problem now.
Ignoring him i quickly took a cab, restless throughout the journey until I got to Brian's house. Jumping out of the cab, i raced into the house, up the staircase, confusion hit me as I was welcomed with more than twenty different doors.
"f**k! which one leads to Brian's room?"
"Its that one"
I turned to see the maid girl I talked to a few house ago pointing towards an extra large door which looked more exquisite than the rest.
Not spearing her a second glance I brisk walked to the room opening the door, relief instantly swept over me at the sight of Alison sleeping peacefully on the bed, there appeared to be no one else in the room so I freely walked in, sitting on the bed beside her. I was so exhausted, taking off my shoes releasing my toes which were aching badly from all the running. leaning over to her, I began stroking her cheek not realizing when I laid beside her, falling asleep.
I was awoken by the feel of someone's warm hands slowly brushing against my lips, on opening my eyes I was shocked to meet Brian's gaze who was lying exactly beside me with one of his legs carelessly placed on mine, he gestured to me to be quiet by placing a finger in between his lips glancing towards my sleeping sister.
