“His Majesty was all prepared to receive you and do the welcoming ceremony but there was a major emergency council meeting he had to conduct so instead he sent President Olivia to do the honors.” Jitesh explained me very clearly.
And one thing was crystal clear – Gabriel wasn’t planning in the near future to keep any personal relationship with me – I am going to be a mere and dear tool and power to him.
Whatever it may be but he shouldn’t have sent Olivia to receive me, not when she was ambitiously in love with him that she didn’t hesitate to threaten me before I breathed the air of her property.
In Nicoman State I was just any other powerless decoration and trophy to their King.
“What a shame that he is missing this amazing sight.” Sean said which bought a creepy blush onto my cheeks.
Kriag would’ve loved to get this avatar of mine painted by those art students he models for. I wonder how he is doing. Is he still upset with me? But I jumped from a moving plane for him!
“And I could pull out them so that you can be forever banished from watching such a beauty.” Gabriel’s voice was different. It held a power and real threat that he would definitely do it if someone is going to push his limit.
Taking the toe length robe from the hanger on my left he stood in front of me and wrapped me in that over sized blue cloth, “I wish to have this view only to myself. Eyes on the ground when with my wife.”
Jitesh gave a bow, followed by Sean when Gabriel turned to them. “Your Majesty, you are here.” Jitesh said with a relief patch on his face.
“Yes. Everybody is dismissed.” Gabriel announced. Although that everybody included only Jitesh and Sean; King’s language is so funny!
“I am sorry I was late but I came with a present you would like.” He said as I slipped out of the robe, he had just put me into; I can wear what I wish to! And I was so angry on him, I had too many things to ask, all the confusion and contemplations of why he wanted me only to be he Queen, but everything went into freezing hibernation when I saw his haggard face; overworked, sleepless nights and stress, it screamed.
“Oh, my dear husband.”
“I hope you have a pleasant stay here Vhrea. I mean it.” Gabriel said sitting opposite to me as I devoured some real food; a bowl of chicken Mon chow soup – this liquid held the power of taking any man to heaven!
“Um… Gabriel this isn’t a hotel. It’s going to be my home for a few months… ” I gulped in another spoon, only imagining the disgusting face mother would make if she saw me in my current position, especially if she knew who Gabriel was. “So, you carry on with your duties and just forget I exist.”
Just like the past five years. Simple as a dimple on the ankle!
“The palace is all about power, psychological war and blood games.”
I knew I should pay attention to what he was saying but food is life, and if there is no life what do I do with his so splendid explanations and warnings? “That is why I would advise you to be careful.”
“I will be. But you need to tell the reason to why I am the one you choose?” If I wasn’t able to yet find out the answers and culprit of complicated situations like a murderer, I definitely deserved answers to these little things, don’t I?
“The best way to be safe is act ignorant and stupid. You just need to hold the place of the Queen, not become one.” He went on with his elucidation on the dos and don’ts of his place and glanced at the grandfather clock in the room; totally ignoring my query and I really hate this room; I hope this is temporary – both the room and him!
“I don’t intend to become one too.” Keeping the bowl aside, “I need two emergency fixes; A power which can beat your arrogant prime minister and an en suite to live.”
His face broke into a smile one which radiated a positive muscle exercise and his grey eyes shined beautifully, a genuine heart touching balloon of love, which gave him a younger than age look. Was he happy about my jealousy of Olivia?
How narcissist!
“Vhrea, she leads this nation and you will have nothing to worry about her.”
“I am not worrying. I don’t care what your relationship is with her. I just hate when people look down on me with stupid reasons.” He chuckled. “You are insecure of her.”
“I would term it as obscure ignorance. Because I am on a vacation here and I don’t care if she is some leading nation activist or a stripper.”
“You are funny.” He said and laughed as if I was the blonde girl in a teenage novel who is jealous of the lead. But why a blonde though?
He didn’t understand why it was such a huge matter to me. I hated to not have power. I don’t appreciate when someone with quarter knowledge on the situation tries to show that the world is a flat ground not a globe round.
I simply didn’t want someone like Olivia, or Olivia herself, to once again disrespect me for personal agendas. I didn’t want Gabriel to become a knight in shining armour and bring me the things I had to give away because of lack of power and status.
Like the safety box packed my Rashmi which Gabriel bought it along with him – the gift he thought I would like – no, I am not a stupid princess who is looking for a forever lived happily with a charming prince.
So, No, I didn’t like such a gift where his accord of affection is display of power and superiority.
“Tomorrow morning at eight we have the signing session to register our marriage in the presence of a father and the council. And then we go public.” He said and put forth a small wooden box, tilting it open I saw a very normal wedding band; platinum it looked, and there was a tiny inscription on it – VDAGM – oh god, this is going to be along name.
“I didn’t want to make it a grand event so we will do it through a small event at a church. I hope that isn’t a problem.” I nodded a No.
The problem was him; it would’ve been a gentleman gesture if he would’ve considered at least to ask me about these things before. Even though this isn’t going to be a real marriage but asking me for the ring choice, the date, venue or small details would be a humanely possibility.
By the unfolding of situation, it totally looks like the dress might also be already decided. I hope it is not a off shoulder frock because I am too lazy and tired to have a spa and wax time tonight.
“That fits. I will see you around then.” WOW! That statement was totally not awkward at all. I wish I could say that!
I mean we generally say such words to classmates, family on a trip to outstation and new employees, and I totally didn’t fit any one of the above options.
“Gabriel.” I stopped him as he was already by the door to leave, “Yes Vhrea.”
“I think you’ve missed something.”
He looked taken a back for a moment as he checked his pockets and even slipped out his phone, only to put it into the other pocket, and then looked at me like a lunatic with raised eyebrows.
I must admit he was totally killing that look of a powerful figure; dressed in a patterned blue shirt paired with a brown plain pants and with neatly gelled hair, completing the look with a pair of comfy brown Fendi shoes. Martha would give him an A++ for his fashion with an additional, Sexy comment.
He did look good and eye catching but just not as good as Kriag; he would’ve rocked it. Although one thing that wasn’t arguable is both the brothers had insane body proportional and panty dropping facial features.
“Oh, my overcoat.” He exclaimed and walked towards the chair he had just emptied. “Nope.”
“What?” He questioned being confused. “You forgot to attend etiquette classes before taking the King’s position.”
“You make me laugh.” He was complimenting and I didn’t understand why?
I was giving him some genuine suggestions about the skills he was lacking and he found it…funny?
