“You seem to be zoning out more than necessary.” Rashmi commented, and I was glad that she hadn’t enquired my whereabouts from yesterday. Honestly, I am totally confused about everything. What could I possibly explain to poor her? “Is there a limit of zoning out also?” I asked in disproof of her confront. “Of course, there is! Calling you by your name thrice is the limit, and after that it is just that you are purposefully ignoring someone.” “Whoa! Like ser–really? Who even came up with something like this?” I exclaimed. “Me.” She proudly pointed out to herself with her index finger. “I am just thinking. Did we get signed for the sports rink girl?” I changed the bickering to something productive. “You mean Aishwarya Raikar?” She asked me, and I knew that she already know who I was talking about but is playing dumb. Why? “Yes.” I replied with gritted teeth. “Yes. Mrs Raikar came for a visit when you were unreachable yesterday. Rosa Ma’am and Bhuvesh managed it well by giving a life expectancy tour of the contract choice.” Contract. Should I sign it with Gabriel? It means leaving everything behind here. And damn how did I forget to ask him about the set of photos he had sent me of. Of Jules, Mom, Tiara, and a fourth person meeting together. “That’s good. I should be getting a review mail soon then.” She nodded in the mirror while looking through the iPad in her hand. Why is it always like Rashmi is busier than me and still maintains the best composure and active mind in any situation? “The styling team is ready for you Ma’am. And the hair and make-up also.” She briefed me, which was totally unnecessary because Dronika, the girl from styling team was already waiting by my side to escort me. “That wasn’t required.” “It is my job – ” “To keep you happy and lessen your workload. Yes, I get that. But irritating me is not what you’re being paid for.” “Of course, I know that. You don’t pay me for that. I work and I earn Ma’am.” That darn witch’s mouth of a lady! “You are being dismissed for the day.” That suddenly reminded of Gabriel and his King authority. If it weren’t real for my eyes, and the all-royal treatment in every corner, I would’ve found this whole concept fiction. A con artist. And why on earth we never learnt about this little country, Nicoman State? I was clueless to the point of sleeping. “No wait. Go to City Hospital and check if Emmet Grayson is on duty or not. I need a photo proof.” “I didn’t know you were a jealous wife.” I glared at her. “Please have a smooth shoot Ma’am.” “Of course, I will. Out of my sight now!” “On it.” Talking to Rashmi was so exhausting and energy taking. More than the energy I could use to seal deals. In the upside-down turmoil of yesterday I’ve totally forgotten about Kriag, and the kiss we shared. I can’t miss my chance with him and get the timing wrong because his step brother was offering a deal I couldn’t refuse. He plainly didn’t use anything luring; nor the statement of greed about making me a queen, nor did he try to seduce; that is trying to use our old relationship on stake. Today it is all about Kriag. I will give my hundred percent to make this shoot a success because I need this time spent with him to be memorable, and this gig was very important for the promotion of Fifeteen. I can’t be sitting and moping around just because I belong to one of the wealthiest families. It took around an hour before I was dressed into some outfit in navy; it kind of depicted me pretty as my sleeves puffed like a balloon and gave me a waist fit, reaching till the knees, contrasted with clean white pumps. “Careful there.” Kriag spoke as soon as I put my first step forward, and gave me a once over from eye to toe, making me feel self-conscious of whether my body fat was peeking out from somewhere between the windows of the dress. “You could be a model anytime. Want to try it sometime?” He asked me, and I didn’t mean to snort and blush on that compliment, but anyways I did. Moving on. “I’ve always told her that but she never takes it seriously.” Aishwarya, the hair stylist, who was now doing my hair, agreed to him. “You must’ve said it in a way she could never understand, dumbass.” Kriag countered her back, these are the times I am reminded that these two are real best friends and simply live in a world of comfort of their relationship where outsiders aren’t welcome. Even I had this with someone. And now he blames me for the death of his sister, and probably wants me dead. Was he always this heartless towards me? Then again Father had taught me that, ‘Giving too much time and interest to someone who doesn’t credit you enough positivity is equal to residing on the moon.’, that is why I simply consider that he is insignificant just like the sixth finger. But why does her name also had to be Aishwarya? Confusing enough to have one itself. “…not my business.” Aishwarya slapped his bicep, and I felt jealous of the ouch he rewarded her with. I wasn’t sure if I was jealous of the friendship they had, or is it because being a woman, seeing your man being chummy with another woman, at the very top is also very comfortable with her definitely gives a heart burn for a freshly recruited liking. Why were Mendel brother’s sometimes very inconsiderate of small and tiny feelings?
