"Do you think I -"
"Doing a minus and a minus for plus is not what I want today. So, don't answer me questions." He smiled, smirked, in surprise of my dominance. "The palace and the people around me are filled with too much dirt, sometimes inside and other times in appearances. I simply wanted to keep a beautiful lady by my side, be it for a short period of time."
I took in a deep breath and frowned, getting my knife sharpened from the heat inside my exploding head. "Just like how a rose gives the final touch, be it a proposal or funeral."
I stood up on my left foot, took another step forward and snapped the edge of my knife to his purposefully left opened collar button, "A showpiece as useless as being cut off at any instant." I whimpered the words after trimming the thread of the button on the floor, under my other foot.
“I will need a concrete answer which should satisfy me. That’s the point of today’s pleasure.” I stated firmly, and sat back at my seat, as my leg slipped out of the slit of my red silk robe, which was arranged my Miranda and Joey. I shouldn’t be wearing all these, I shall inform Gabriel about getting my Kittens clothes, after all I am the ambassador.
“I thought you would’ve found the answers by now. That was the point of letting you do everything you wanted to do here.” Without my presence. I suppose that’s what he wanted to add in the last but he should be adding, only my eyes on you, too at the end of it.
I know how he gets reported everything and yet has a blind eye to my needs. Not once did he come to meet me to clarify and settle things. Such a prudent.
“Mr Gabriel Mendel, I thought by now you would’ve understood my world doesn’t revolve around you anymore, nor has it ever, and never will it be. So, no I didn’t have the time to ponder and find answers about the why’s of your proposal.”

Why was I getting so heated up? Definitely not because I was angry with him? Maybe the way he is still trying to play hooky instead of giving me reasons.
“Let’s not get angry Vhrea.” I feel like a stupid.
I have made this decision to come and marry him in an alien place only because of the photos he had sent me about Julian and Tiara’s meeting, and the sole breakdown of my functioning brain. What did I want to do after coming here? Why didn’t I have a plan for anything?
“I am not angry!” I took a long sip of the water; why is it tasting so like irons?
Before I could see his laughing face I heard his chuckle, so he is finding this funny, nobody tries to understand me, nor trust me with anything important. Why?
“You want to see my roses?”
He asked, trying to make it an invitation, but he was already standing which only meant that in royal terms; he is ordering!
“Don’t do–” I attempted to scare him by illumining to s***h his palm with my Rashmi’s survival kit knife, but once a master still remains a master, as if he read my mind and before I could make my full move, he pulled my left hand and spun me around, which lead to my body’s imbalance.
Weakness.
And he did it.
Taking the hold of my free hand he pinched the wrist with the knife and wound it around through my scrag, bringing the same tip of the knife to my jugular nerve; the very first tip he thought in my first self-defense class: hit the nose, poke an eye, bloody headbutt and Vitals.
“Now let’s go.”
"Why don't you ever give me reasons to trust you?" I asked him, as he undid the hostage on my body.
"You still don't understand. Do you?" He replied, while putting the robe properly on my shoulders, and tying the unleft belt of the dress at my waist.
"You don't want me to trust you." But why? "Yet you want my help."
His slightly calloused fingers brushed through my hair as he settled my locks on my shoulders, as if trying to cover my face, he was always the adventurous type.
"Vhrea don't malign our mutual alliance with the help term." I frowned, and after a moment of assessing my face, he lipped the word perfect.
"Let's go, my rose." I rolled my eyes, and gave him another moment to lead the way, and they say timing is the perfect kill, so I put my left foot forward which he obviously stumbled upon, but I didn't think he would've lost his entire balance, of course he did.
I put forth my best poker face on display as a smile kept threatening to creep up, seeing the turn of tables, I extended my hand to him.
With his top button missing, and next two holes of his white shirt opened, his chest peeked out of well-built armored muscles, the entire appetizer, meal along with plating to every woman's eye and mouth, such a little action and it has the ability to make me feel wild.
"You still don't need my help?" I stated the irony of his claims and smirked.
"Kings don't become rulers only with the hands of help and slogans of praises, it's even about who and whom."
It seemed like he just wanted to spit out those words of struggle he has about trusting people, and it was crystal clear he didn't trust me, as he managed to solidify his jelly legs and stood up, and brushed out some invisible dust from his black pant.
"Let's go wherever you want us to go." I said and opened the door of my room before he could reach for the handle.
"Let me give you the night tour of our home." Our? Why was he such a complicated person to understand? Didn't he just prove he doesn't trust me and now he calls me a part of his home?
"I'm so excited, aren't I?" I mocked my statement-showing my clear disinterest, but he was a thick-skinned man and I had a concise analysis on him that he isn't going to get melted because of tears for fears.
"You're lucky that you are Vhrea." I didn't understand what he meant, but it didn't sound like a compliment, not an insult either.
