Esme's POV It was late evening when I came back from the infirmary. The sky outside was already turning dark. The infirmary wasn’t too far from the main hall, but I walked slowly, trying to take everything in. So much has changed in the pack since I left. New buildings, more people and more guards. It felt strange, like I was walking through a place I once knew but didn’t belong to anymore. I pushed open the door to my room quietly. The lights were still on.
