Jordan!

I wish I could say he was no match for me. That taking him down was as easy as 123. Wrong. My arms did nothing. He simply wrapped his arm behind him and grabbed a fist full of my shirt. It wasn't until I clawed at his face that he let out a roar and flung me against the wall. A flash of pain ran through my shoulder and it collided with the wall. I fell in a heap and looked up in horror as a knife appeared in his hand. He took a step towards me just as Annabella stuck out her foot. Maxwell fell and the knife flew out of his hand and to my feet. I snatched it up as I sprang into a standing position. He lifted his head only to fall unconscious after I had placed a successful kick to his forehead. His head hit the ground with a satisfying bump and I ran over to release Annabella. "Thank you for saving my life," I told her as I cut both bonds away. She gave me a small smile before her eyes focused on something behind me. Instinctively, I spun around and stabbed outward, locking eyes with the woman from earlier. They were wide as she stumbled back and clutched at the knife in her chest. "Thank you," she coughed out as she fell back with her eyes staring upward. "Come on," Annabella pulled my arm as I stared down at the poor woman in shock. I did that.  I killed her. "You had to," Annabella yanked me away and through the door. I followed her numbly as I followed her out of the house and into the trees. It wasn't until I heard a roar of a dragon that I snapped out of my daze. It wasn't just any roar. Jordan. "Jordan!" I screamed as I sprinted through the trees towards the sound. I wish I could say I was graceful. I wish I could say I didn't trip and fall on my face. I did. Twice to be exact. I didn't care. Nor did I care about Annabella screaming my name behind me. I burst into a clearing and a smile sprang to my face. There he was. Sitting in the clearing, completely unharmed. When he noticed me, his eyes widened. He jumped up and in two bounds, he hand me pinned to the ground. He licked me with his massive tongue, stopping only when my front was wet. "Jordan!" I laughed as I wrapped my arms around his head, "I missed you!" He gave another lick before giving me space to stand up. I gave him a pat before turning towards where I thought Annabella would be standing. She wasn't. In fact, she wasn't anywhere in the clearing. "Annabella!" I yelled as I started towards the trees. "Now, now," she said from behind me. I spun around and found her already sitting on Jordan with the box in her arms. It was dented in some places but otherwise looked fine, "I was just retrieving the box." "How'd you find it?" I asked as I climbed on in front of her. "I am a witch after all," she said, "I put a magic tracker on all my items. Though I can't put it on living creatures otherwise Jordan would have one too." "That's lucky," I said as Jordan jumped into the air. "Ha, luck has nothing to do with it!" Annabella yelled as we glided through the air. We kept our eyes out for dangers but none came. We had it. We were going to make it.
