"Nothing," Eiden said, but his face said everything he wasn’t brave enough to voice.
He gave me a smile that didn’t belong to him, the kind people use when they are pretending everything is normal.

Without a word, I nodded.
I didn’t trust my voice enough to speak, and honestly, I didn’t see the point anymore.
We walked side by side, but the silence between us felt louder than any argument we had ever had.
