CHAPTER THIRTY The cage fell too fast for me to catch, with the girls all screaming for their lives inside. I held my arms over my head, but I knew it was going to hurt no matter what I did. When the cage was just inches above my head, however, it stopped abruptly. Puzzled, I looked up at the cage, wondering why I was not currently being crushed to death under the weight of the cafe, until I heard Strike shout, “Bolt, are you all right?” I looked over at where Strike stood. He was holding his hands out, a strained look on his face, and I realized he was using his magnetic powers to keep the cage from falling down on and crushing me.
