“Oh, no. We’re going to go right through the head of it, horizontally, bisecting the urethra, about a quarter of an inch back from the end. It’s called an ampallang. Usually the piercing is done above the urethra, but by lowering it down a little, it is stronger. The ring will be quite thick and case hardened. Once it closed, it can never be removed, short of using a cutting torch. It will be there forever. My friend knows a guy who makes those rings
